But I also know that finding the best travel stroller for your trip with a growing baby or toddler–or combination of little ones–can be a tricky business! If you forego features in favor of a lighter load, will you regret it on your vacation? Can a compact stroller be too compact to keep a baby or toddler — or jet-lagged preschooler — happy on day trips far from home? Let’s start with some important buyi ..read more

Here’s my guide to the best places to visit California’s giant redwoods and giant sequoias. Now with SIX of our family’s favorites! A familiar face peeks through the exit of the massive, climb-through “Illinois” giant sequoia tree at Kings Canyon National Park. I will never forget the first time I saw a tree big enough to drive through. I was only five years old and beyond thrilled that our family road trip not only took us through the redwoods, but actually THROUGH a giant redwood tree. If you are planning a family road trip to or through California, I hope you’ll be able to visit some of ..read more

Fortunately, getting that one extra–and often cumbersome–item, AKA your car seat through the airport may be easier than you think. Here are the seven best ways to get a car seat through the airport.
