Famous for it’s disturbing scene set in a subway station, “Possession” is the 1981 film from Polish Director Andrzej Żuławski. Is it a horror film, a psychological drama, or an autobiographical cry for help from a man going through a painful breakup? Whatever answer you come up with, you will ..read more

The Large Association of Movie Blogs

We are starting the new year soon, and that means we need a new Movie of the Month for January. The choices are wide open and you can certainly find something you would like to talk about. Howard Casner of “Pop Art” has submitted “The American Astronaut” from 2001 for what may be the third time. Persistence pays off if you want it to. Dave Anderson of “Free Kittens Movie Guide” thinks the 1970s rule, so he knows you want to talk about William Fredkin’s underrated masterpiece “Sorcerer ..read more

Continuing our long line of left handed Christmas Selections for MOTM in December, this year we have a James Bond film, set in the alps, with lots of snow and Christmas in the background. James Wilson of “Blogging by Cinema Light” saw a Christmas tree and decided that was enough to justify adding it to the list, and you the LAMB community agreed wholeheartedly.  Of course it doesn’t take much to persuade your Shepard that a 007 film should be the subject of a LAMBcast.  This was the first James Bond without Sean ..read more

Lambcast #756 Holiday Recommendations
The Large Association of Movie Blogs
by Richard Kirkham

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, at least for some people.  Here on the LAMB it is an opportunity to talk about Christmas/Holiday themed movies and to give the community some recommendations. This year we have some historical dramas, touching short films, transvestite stocking hangers, and some action flicks that all spread Christmas cheer or drama one way or another. The Mad Lab Post’s Nicole Ayers has a short film grove that she likes to jam to, so two of her recommendations are brief but may be hard to rundown. Wicker ..read more

Lambcast #755 Gladiator II

This week on the Lambcast, we are entering the arena once again to battle wild animals, gladiators and our fellow LAMBs. 24 Years after the Academy Award Winning “Gladiator” starring Russel Crowe was unleashed on us, the legacy sequel “Gladiator II” enters the competition. Although it is doomed to be overshadowed by a behemoth Broadway musical adaptation at the Box Office, audiences are still going to be asked for a thumbs up or down on this echo from eternity.   Seated in the stands, awaiting their ..read more
