Looking for recommendations and suggestions on some good sagas to binge watch! I love following a series, a long story and characters over multiple movies - I’ve seen things like Harry Potter, LOTR, Hunger Games, Rocky, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, FSOG, Saw, Godfather… what is your favorite saga? I welcome obscure gems! submitted by /u/girovalover [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Dune parts 1 and 2's usage of the sandworms is a testament to how, when done well, less can be more.

the most iconic element of the dune franchise is the sandworms. they are among the most iconic giant monsters in all of pop culture. given their iconography, you'd think that dune parts 1 and 2 would feature them pretty prominently. well, no actually. in the first dune movie, the sandworm only has about a minute of screentime. and in part 2, they have slightly more screentime but not a whole lot. however, this is actually not a terrible thing. although they don't have much screentime, they make what little screentime they have count. they are at the center of some of the best scenes of the du ..read more

Will Smith did not deserve an Oscar for King Richard. What other subpar performances have won Oscars?

The film was directed by Reinaldo Green mostly known for TV and written by Zach Baylin who was an absolute unknown. Will’s performance was not the strongest. (Hunching your shoulders, enunciating every other consonant, while wearing very vivid short-short jacket wardrobes only goes so far.) However, the movie was beautifully shot. The way the van, tennis balls, and King Richard’s wardrobe were treated as focal points in each scene they appeared in was excellent. The framing and movement were on point. The cinematographer, Robert Elswit, won Will his Oscar. Take a look at his IMDB. Rob has had ..read more

I have an extensive Blu ray and UHD movie collection with 1156 movies so far but I also collect fake movie props, my collection includes the number plate from Back to the Future, the Golden Idol and the Cup of Christ from Indiana Jones, two replicas of the Oscar statues (identical to the real statue), the statue from The Maltese Falcon (20 cms in height), the mask from Halloween, a clapper board and film reels. I also have a signed photo of Robert Englund (as Freddy Krueger), and a signed photo of John Rhys-Davies (as Sallah) (from a meet and greet, lovely man). submitted by /u/KerrAvon777 ..read more

So I thought it was Walt Goggins but I could be wrong. So the film apparently was about a group of adult friends and one them was basically a real jerk but they keep hanging out with him because he’s nice to get what he wants. So the first clip was when this guy had a girl over and she had her period in bed so he kicked her out and totally flipped. Second clip was them talking about the best sex they ever had and he described when he was in high school he and some other boys held down another boy in the shower and raped him and he described that because the victim came at the same time he kne ..read more

From the trailer footage I already knew he was gonna steal the spotlight but boy in the full movie all the few scenes he was in, he stole it for real. From the way he fight, speak, etc. idk it was dope af. And he said he took some inspo from Anton from No Country for Old Men and heath’s joker and it created a dope villain. Haven’t read the book but did research on it and apparently some fans didn’t like that he was bald whereas in the book he has hair but I think it’s a good contrast and a cool creative choice. submitted by /u/R_u_seriousss [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
