“I was excited to work with Blair Moore, who I had heard a lot about, and equally excited to reunite with Dru Brown after working with him on feature film, Double or Nothing,” says Rabiah about the Homeward writer/director and writer/producer respectively. “It was one of the most fun shoots I have been involved in. Blair is very open to improvisation and trusts his actors to bring some extra flavour to the soup.”

A Quiet Place: Day One follows a relatively new tradition of not screening a film for the media ahead of release. Has it paid off? Looks like it has, with the prequel offering an alternative to school holiday fare Inside Out 2 and Despicable Me 4. Another new release didn’t fare so well, with the NZ family film The Mountain DOA – or will it be resuscitated once the entire nation is in school holiday mode. We’ll have to wait until next Monday to find out!
