We went for breakfast at Tsavo Lion Restaurant earlier in the morning and got a good table right next to the lioness on her usual rock. She was more alert than the day before and we managed to get some nice photos with her. It was my Mum's birthday the next day, so the hubby requested for the staff to organise a special celebration for her (since they had done it for other guests as well). The staff were more than happy to give my Mum a big Bali Safari celebration! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Madeline Heng (@madpsychmum) She was super happy! I woke up before sunrise to check on the Littlest, who developed a fever in the middle of the night. Thankfully, I remembered to bring medicine with us so her fever subsided after taking paracetamol. Since I couldn't go back to sleep, I managed to catch the sunrise outside my window. When the rest of the family had woken up, we called a buggy to bring us to Tsavo Lion Restaurant to have our breakfast. Besides lions, who were mostly asleep and not in the mood for any action, we managed to observe a family of meerkats busy with their day. The breakfast spread was decent and spiced u ..read more

The last time we went to Bali almost 10 years ago, I was pregnant with my boy and feeling nauseous the whole time! As a result, I did not have a good memory of Bali. This time, I hope to have a better experience and redeem my memory of Bali!  After almost 3 years of not flying, the hubby suggested for us to spend 10D9N in Bali! We'll be covering the following itinerary: Bali Safari >> Kintamani >> Kuta >> Nusa Dua. Honestly, I don't know if 10 days would be too long, but I'll let you know at the end of our trip. We also decided that if we were going to fly post-COVI ..read more

DAY 8 It was our turn to have breakfast at Lighthouse Club (our villas only included breakfast for 4 persons so we had to take turns). The buffet spread was small, but the service was personalised and very good! ? The restaurant manager asked whether we liked anything else, and I asked if they had waffles (wasn't in the buffet line). He replied yes and later appeared with my own serving of fresh waffles! So yummy! ? After a good breakfast, we had a final swim in the pool before saying goodbye to our beautiful sea view villa at Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson. The kids were super sad to ..read more

We had the choice of breakfast at the restaurant at the main building or the Lighthouse Club (the same restaurant we had afternoon tea yesterday). The family decided to have breakfast at the latter so that they didn't have to squeeze with the crowd. Only 4 of us could go for the breakfast, so we decided to take turns. It was our turn to sleep in today, so we had yummy cup noodles by the pool while watching the kids swim (more details on the breakfast when it's our turn tomorrow)! I also brought along bath bombs that I bought from Don Don Donki as I knew we had bathtubs in our villa. The ..read more

We had simple breakfast in our hotel rooms before checking out early. It was a steep drive down the mountain, though thankfully that the fog has cleared a bit and the roads were clear. On the way to our next destination, we stopped by and had lunch at The Gift Tilapia Restaurant in Seremban (near KL). As the name suggests, the restaurant is well-known for tilapia, which they breed themselves to ensure that the meat is fresh and tasty! It's a must to try their tilapia, and you can choose how you want your fish to be done ? We also ordered other dishes like fried egg, chicken and tofu, w ..read more

Our rooms did not come with breakfast so we had to look for breakfast at SkyAvenue Shopping Mall. We tried JR Curry, which was quite decent if you need a good teh-c and prata/noodles. We made the difficult decision of not going to Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park as originally planned because it was simply too foggy for us to truly enjoy the experience. More reasons for us to come back! Instead, we brought the younger kids to play at a small arcade in front of the Ripley's museum while the 3 teenagers explored the mall on their own (they were contactable by phone). The kids had f ..read more

It was time to leave Ipoh (time flies!) and we had a simple breakfast in our apartment before returning our keys and checking out. Before we left Ipoh, we stopped by Restoran Tuck Kee (address: 1-3, Jalan King, Jalan Pasir Pinji, 31650 Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia) to buy their famous roast pork and duck. Make sure that you don't confuse this restaurant with Restoran Tuck Kee of the same name located next to our apartment that's famous for tze char.  You must really try their roast pork, a favourite of our entire family of foodies! My in-law's box was wiped out before we even arr ..read more

We headed straight to Cameron Highlands after breakfast at the apartment this morning. We like to drop by Cameron Highlands on our road trips because of its close proximity to Ipoh and the cool weather. We stayed on Cameron Highlands for 2 nights on our first visit but we didn't enjoy the experience hence we only did day trips from then on. Our first stop was at the Big Red Strawberry Farm to pick strawberries. We visited previously before the Littlest was born and had a good time. Unfortunately, this farm was so popular that they had ran out of strawberries to pick! We had to con ..read more

We had some breakfast in our apartment and did some packing before heading out to the biggest theme park in Ipoh, which was about 18 minutes away from our apartment. Along the way we stopped by to buy soya bean milk from Funny Mountain and delicious kaya puffs from Yee Thye. Is it really that good? You gotta taste it to believe it y'all! We were hoping to smuggle our puffs into the theme park but were caught at the gate where the security had checked all the bags. We had to consume all of it before entering, which turned out to be a blessing because puffs as fresh as these should be consumed ..read more
