As I was working on my computer, I heard the doggie door slam and knew my cat “Soffee” was soon to join me on the couch.  I noticed her coming…with something in her mouth.  She brought me a “present”, there it was, trying to get away, or rather, slide away, she brought me a good sized alligator lizard!  I didn’t want to get bit, so I began taking off my shirt to throw on top of the lizard, so that I could take it outside without getting bit.  In the split second it took me to take off my shirt, Soffee had pulled off the tail and was playing with it in the split second it took to take off my s ..read more

Where does our food come from? To a large extent, our health  depends upon the answer to this question. You see, most food bought in the supermarket is days and weeks old. Prepackaged food may be older. Once a fruit or vegetable has been picked, there are no longer antioxidants and nutrients being pumped into the food. Pond gives RUHS students hands-on opportunity

Ponds are newsworthy because they provide opportunities for students to learn. Enviroscape LA built this pond at the Redondo Union High School in 2016.  Kudos to Redondo Union High School (RUHS) for partnering with Enviroscape LA to create a pond for the science department.  This will be a state of the art facility used for science classes and tied into aquaponic vertical gardens and rainwater harvesting. This  Sustainability project is tying in Aquaponics with a vertical garden to grow food with water that recycles.  Vertical aquaponics can save 95% water over a traditional soil garden.
