Angie McMahon just dropped her second studio album Light, Dark, Light Again October 27th. McMahon collaborated with Grammy nominated producer Brad Cook to capture the chaos of life in each song, guided by a self-driven tenderness. Timing vs time is the theme, and she reminds us that time is a construct that shifts and transforms. This idea holds particularly true in an era where there is pressure on us to create art rapidly and post it on social media before the day ends. It took four years for Angie McMahon to give us another album, and she made every minute worth the wait.

An album that has been completed for almost a year, So Vanilla begins to cement Viji’s status as one of the most exciting artists currently blending 90’s inspired shoegaze and bedroom pop.

New York’s Charly Bliss have today shared their new single, I Need A New Boyfriend, paired with its hilarious accompanying video directed by the band’s Dan Shure. The single follows on from the release of You Don’t Even Know Me Anymore, which was released earlier this year to critical praise.
Of the single, vocalist, Eva Hendricks states:
I think the best breakup songs are celebratory. Thankfully, decades of dating the wrong people have prepared me to write the emo, palm-muted breakup song of my dreams,’ she continues, ‘I was in Australia when Dan had the idea for this video, so we had to cre ..read more

Dog door, share their debut single, Cover Up Contest, opening the entrance to the intense creative minds of Oliver Girdler (Forced Fandom / O. Girdler), and Jamie Cameron (The Last Dinosaur) who have been brought together through a shared love of lo-fi and kaleidoscopic pop.
Speaking of the track, Cameron states:
Oliver and I channel our slacker heroes to make a lo-fi nostalgia journey to the heart of the sun with verses sounding like forgotten summers, a Velvets psych wig-out middle section and a sunshine Beach Boys-esque chorus crescendo. Come in and wipe your paws off, if you don’t l ..read more

Following the release of their debut EP, You’re Welcome, earlier this year, today, Brighton-based duo Lambrini Girls have shared the important visual for ‘Boys In The Band’, with a slice of their tongue-in-cheek humour.
Of the video, the band state:
We’ve been planning the release of this music video for a while and the recent events in the media just confirmed its relevance further. Our song, Boys in the Band- is about SA and abuse in the music scene. The recent influx of conversations of abuse culture comes down to another bombshell revelation in pop culture when another celebrity turns out ..read more
