I'm embarrassed to say that I've done this more than once, and I've dared to suddenly reappear ..read more

Revlon Powder Murad Renewing Eye Cream Lush Fairly Traded Honey Shampoo Bath & Body Works Bourbon Maple Candle This post is actually a healthy mix of true empties and some old things I just needed to purge. It's a little embarrassing, but in the spirit of full disclosure, here it goes. Over the years of doing so much traveling (see my 2017 wrap up here), I started keeping a packed makeup bag under my bathroom counter so that I could just toss it in my suitcase and go. Over time, it has collected a ton of product until it was almost bursting, and I had to weed it out. I found thing ..read more

Cape: Zara Sweater: J Crew Dress: ERIN Erin Fetherston via Rent the Runway Unlimited Bag: Celine Boots: Bella Vita  Lips: Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Vineyard Yes, it's March 1, and I have a picture of a Christmas tree up on my blog. No excuses, that's just how things have been going around here lately. And since we finally hit winter here only about two weeks ago, it still seems appropriate somehow, and this outfit has so many of my current favorites. I love the concept of capes, yet every time I wear one, I do feel like I have dinosaur arms.  We were actually out on ..read more

This post contains affiliate links.  Products received for review,  but all opinions are my own,  and I was not compensated for the review. Wow. January has been rough. First, with being sick and then working 12 days in a row, I feel like I haven't had time to think, and I have not left the house much the last few weeks. Because I've been too tired to even think about shopping, I've mostly been using and wearing things that I already have, which is again one of my goals for this year. I'll probably do another post about my goals for this year (late to that party, I know), but t ..read more

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you to RoC for sending me the Retinol Correxion Max to review. I fell in love with this product and also appreciate the #ForYourAge campaign they've been running. If you've ever been offered a compliment followed by "for your age," I'd love if you would leave a comment with your views on it. Should we just accept them without reading too much into it or feel somewhat slighted that it's sort of backward ..read more

Sweater: via LeTote Espadrilles: Tory Burch Bandana: J Crew Sunglasses: Prada Jeans: J Crew Bracelet: Gorjana Shimmer Bar Bracelet Life is never boring around here. Like everyone else's, mine has been somewhat chaotic and overwhelming lately. I mentioned here that I had to take one final business trip this year. I returned from Texas the Friday before Thanksgiving. We had decided to stay home and have a quiet holiday because we had been down to L.A. for a college tour the week before I went to Texas, and we didn't want to be on the road again. The holiday was nice and quiet, but t ..read more

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the Neiman Marcus Las Vegas Annual Beauty Bloggers Brunch at the Fashion Show Mall. First of all, what an amazing space on a beautiful November morning overlooking the strip with not a cloud in the sky.  We were first tempted by an amazing array of goodies including a cocktail of blood orange vodka and Champagne Cronuts Hash brown cupcakes And chicken and waffle bites as well as several delicate finger sandwiches. The food was amazing and so gorgeously displayed by the chef. I highly recommend a meal there if you are shopping at ..read more

Top: TY-LR Pants: Ann Taylor Sandals: Old but these Topshop pumps are on my wishlist Nails: Dior Tra-La-La Immediately after the reminder that I was going back to my comfort zone, this outfit happens. I did say that pink was going to be one of the colors left in the closet after I did my purge. The cut of this TY-LR blouse is very flattering with a wide, clearly defined waist and lots of billowy pleating across the chest. I do find it runs a little large though, so you might consider sizing down. I’ve had these Ann Taylor pants quite a while now, and they are holding up quite ..read more

Signature Soy Sugar Blossom Candle Murad Hydro-Dynamic Quenching Essence NYX HD Concealer Lush Santa's Belly Shower Jelly Klorane Dry Shampoo It’s time for more empties. I’ve been falling down on the job again. Skincare I’ve had the Murad Hydro-Dynamic Quenching Essence in my favorites for awhile now as seen here, and I will be repurchasing soon. As I’ve said before, this is worth every penny, and I credit it with changing my skin texture dramatically over the last year. You use a sparing amount once a day, so it lasts quite a while.  Lifestyle Sugar Blossom was my favorite candle ..read more

Top: Rachel Zoe Pants: Old but similar here Sandals: Old but similar here Sunglasses: Prada So awhile ago here, I wrote about giving up on the quest to add more color into my wardrobe and going back to my comfortable and familiar color palette. That used to mean black, grey and white. However, that seemed like such a finite statement, and I felt that if I ever did wear color, like I did here, knowing the Internet, someone would call me out on it. I don’t generally care when that happens; I make decisions based on what is right for me and not anyone else, so if I do feel like wearing purpl ..read more
