Warm, comforting and hearty is the perfect definition of this soup. I could eat soup every day of the week this time of year so I’m always trying to create new soup and stew recipes. This one was different for me but I think it turned out really nice. Full of flavor and nutrients, it’s all you need for a weekday dinner.  Speaking of weekday dinners, I’ve gotten into a new routine with our little family of four recently. Having two babies under two (or 1 ½) is so busy that I didn’t cook for a while. Wiley did all the cooking for the first few months of Parker’s life, which was much-appreci ..read more

Life has been busy recently so I haven’t had a ton of time to plan, prep and cook meals for my family. I’m always on the hunt for something that is healthy, quick and involves little clean up. I recently discovered these fish fillets from Gortons Seafood and they are so tasty! These beer battered, whole fish fillets are the perfect easy meal. I cooked them on a sheet pan with Maple Roasted Sweet Potatoes, topped them with some fresh herbs and had a super tasty meal in less than 25 minutes. I feel good about feeding these fish fillets to my family because they are wild caught, non minced fillet ..read more

Third Trimester, At Home

I could have never imagined that I’d be spending the last few months of this pregnancy at home, with no where to go and “nothing” to do. Quarantine has brought on lots of pleasant unexpected moments that we wouldn’t have gotten otherwise, so as tough as the situation has been on the world, I’m thankful for the time we’ve had. I was thinking about it a little more the other day and thinking that, besides a handful of people, I have’t been able to experience the last days before our baby arrives with any other friends or family. My friends haven’t been able to see my growing belly, my baby showe ..read more

Bathroom Renovation

You may be well aware by now that Wiley and I have spent the better part of the past two years renovating our house from top to bottom, inside out. Since we’ve done all the work ourselves, it’s taken some time (not to mention all of the life that has happened during those years) but we are just about ready to call it DONE. The last project we finished was the bathroom. We started a few days into December and were finished by the first of January. Since renovations always come with more work than you are aware of in the beginning, I think our timing was pretty good! Once the old tile was pulled ..read more

Baby Boy Clothes

I’m almost two years into buying precious boy clothes (I started the moment I found out I was having this baby boy in June 2018) so I’ve compiled a list of my favorite brands to share. I never thought that I would enjoy shopping for a boy as much as I do but if you look in the right places, there sure are some cute things. I don’t like to spend a lot of money on baby clothes because they are bound to get messy and collect stains and they wear them for such a short amount of time that it’s just not worth it to me. My mom and I have made a fun hobby out of hunting for baby clothes. Consignment s ..read more

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and I’m thrilled to be celebrating with our little family of three. Since there isn’t a lot of extra time when chasing around a baby, I’ve learned that I have to simplify some things. So I’ve created a simple family meal that you can serve to your friends and family that doesn’t take too much time but will surely leave a good impression. When it comes to holiday entertaining and you’re doing all the cooking is one of my best tips is: don’t make everything from scratch. If you can go to the bakery and buy a pretty loaf of bread, do it! No need to do ever ..read more

Our Nursery + Pottery Barn Kids

I dreamt about Wiley James’s nursery long before we even knew he was coming. I had plans for soft colors and textures mixed with toys that would one day become treasures. When we started creating his space, and saw it coming to life, I knew it would be a special place. We love spending time in the nursery singing, reading, playing, praying and making memories. From floor to ceiling, it’s exactly what we wanted it to be     It was important to me to create a place that was pretty but also practical and healthy! I’m so grateful to have been able to partner with Pottery Barn Kids to make that a ..read more

You might be thinking that I only vacation at the beach and well, you are kind of right! It’s my most favorite place to spend time and any opportunity I get to go, I’m there. Recently we packed the car with Wiley, myself, baby and my mom and headed to the gulf of Florida. When Wiley and I first visited 30A we quickly realized it was completely different from the beach where we grew up. It’s white sandy shores and crystal clear waters are certainly not the same as our east coast beach but we love them both for different reasons. 30A is much closer to Nashville so it has become our go-to vacati ..read more
