With The Security Event just weeks away, many people will be planning their journey to Birmingham. MSC have designed and procured this new video surveillance control room for Barnet Council
This £2.3 million new installation project for Barnet Council was won by the company DSSL led by Aaron Stephens using Genetec VMS, Bosch and Hanwha Techwin cameras. The system is capable of analytics, artificial intelligence and has fibre optic transmission provided by BT to each camera location with a view to maximising the facility for other uses such as vehicle counting, clean air monitoring and with the ability to create reliable communications hubs for local users and residents.

The Biometric and Surveillance Camera Commissioner, Professor Fraser Sampson has suggested councils and police should consider CCTV firms' human rights records before purchasing their equipment. Professor Sampson's call has been backed by the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Tom Tugendhat MP.

Global MSC Security are delighted to announce it has been appointed by the City of Edinburgh Council to consult on a planned upgrade of its video surveillance system from analogue to IP, as Edinburgh progresses towards its vision to become one of the world smartest capital cities.

The Surveillance Camera Commissioner has issued a blog to update us all on the recent ruling from the Court of Appeal, Bridges V South Wales Police. A milestone ruling concerning the use of automatic facial recognition (AFR).
What is perhaps more interesting is the not so veiled criticism of the Home Office and Home Secretary, merging his role with that of the Biometrics Commissioner. As Tony Porter succinctly puts it "95% of what I do is not related to facial recognition".

Global MSC Security today announced that it has chosen Meningitis Now as its charity for the Global MSC Security Conference and Exhibition 2020, which takes place at the Bristol Hotel in Bristol, on Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th November. The annual event for professionals operating in all areas of the surveillance industry, will help the Bristol and Avon Group (B&A Group) to meet its pledge to raise £100k, for the only charity dedicated to fighting meningitis in the UK.
