Every day I listen to Governor Cuomo address the public. Today he started off with a great story about his daughter who recently graduated from school. In honor of her graduation, her Dad told her he was going to give her money. She responded by telling him she did not want money. She wanted something from him, her Dad. ‘With money,’ he said, ‘you could buy whatever you want.’ She responded, ‘I want something of yours. That’s more meaningful.’ So Governor Cuomo have his daughter his watch that was gifted to him by his parents. Why this story? Because giving a hand-stitched needlepoint gift is ..read more

“I love to needlepoint, but I don’t have enough wall space for all these canvases.” This seems to be a very common theme among needlepointers. To which, I share, “you can do so much more than hang it.” The Stitchery has recently turned  beautiful completed canvases into tote bags. Why shouldn’t everyone, not just the guests in your home, be able to see your work? Tote bags make great gifts for family and friends. Who doesn’t need an extra bag for their gym clothes, dance clothes, sports equipment, groceries or travel? The Stitchery has also made framed canvases and cushion-backed canvases ..read more

With You In Mind    A customer told me a story about the volunteer work that she does and the little person she came across. She had this little person in mind when she walked into my shop. You see, my faithful customer had a plan…she was going to needlepoint a project for this little one. She had no idea what kind of piece she wanted to work on but she was confident that it had to speak to her. I began the search for the perfect piece and after some time emailing back and forth my customer happily wrote back “This is the One!” The piece was entitled First Sight Love and it reminded ..read more
