It goes without saying that I’ll jump at almost any chance to travel. I’ll jump at that opportunity even faster if it includes kicking off said travel with a staycation right here in Louisville, Kentucky. Cause who doesn’t love a reason to ditch your home (and the day-to-day chores that come with it) in exchange for a comfortable hotel? Which luckily enough was just the case when Cambria Hotels reached out about hitting the road with them to experience not one, but two of their incredible properties.  If you’re not familiar, Cambria Hotels caters to time-starved and ex ..read more

Plan A Trip To Beautiful Nicewonder Farm & Vineyards

Truth be told, I’d almost always prefer to fly over drive, but when a solid road trip opportunity presents itself I’m more than happy to hit the road. Nicewonder Farm & Vineyards is located a little over 5 hours from Louisville, which also just so happens to be my self-imposed limit for a reasonable roadtrip. Honestly, the drive was a breeze, and even if it weren’t, rounding the corner and seeing the property in person, for the first time would’ve made up for it completely. What is Nicewonder Nicewonder Farm & Vineyards is a resort destination like no other. The sprawling property is n ..read more

How to Keep Your Hair Anchored

KeepItAnchored is sponsoring today’s post, but, as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that support me!  If you’ve been around on the blog or Instagram for any time at all you’ve more than likely seen me with a myriad of hairstyles, but one thing has always remained the same. My affinity for having good hair – whether that be long and in a man bun or rocking a buzz cut.  Over the last month I’ve been on a new hair journey of sorts with KeepItAnchored. Because even though my hair is shorter than it has been.. for ..read more

How to Spend 24 Hours in Columbus, Ohio

Big thanks to Experience Columbus for sponsoring today’s post! As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own, and I appreciate you supporting the brands that support me. Oddly enough I spent quite a few weekends in my younger years in Columbus (cause it makes way more sense to date someone 4 hours away vs. next door, right?), but up until recently I hadn’t made the trek back up in easily 10 years.  Safe to say, a lot has changed over the years, but the city holds it same charm. I was more than excited to explore some of my old favorite neighborhoods (like Short North) and enjoy new-to ..read more

avid Hotels is sponsoring today’s post, but as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you for continuing to support the brands that make support me! #avidAboutTraveling It’s safe to say after the last year (or let’s be honest two years) I’m always ready to jump at the chance to travel – even if it’s just an hour or so east of Louisville. So, when avid Hotels asked if I would be interested in checking out their hotel in Lexington, I gave a full body YES without much thought.  I’ve always loved visiting Lexington over the years. There were many, many a night spent th ..read more

Louisville Eats: Lucky Leopard Pizza

To be honest, we’re missing (sorely missing at that) a late night food scene here in Louisville. Sure, we’ve got lots of local food spots to frequent, but you’ll be hard pressed to find (a decent) one open past 10 PM – even on the weekends. Which is why I was pumped to see Lucky Leopard Pizza take up residence in High Horse Bar serving up delish late night grub from 6 PM to LATE Thursday through Sunday. If find yourself asking “What’s High Horse (Air Conditioned) Bar?” then you’re probably my age or a little bit older as it’s the current “cool kid” hang out on the weekends. It’s definitely w ..read more

Ironworks Hotel Indianapolis is conveniently located right off of North Keystone Avenue and East 86th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana, and for me, was only a short two hour drive from Louisville! Which proved to be well worth the drive. Having stayed at several hotels over the years there’s some that stand out above the rest, and it’s safe to say that Ironworks Hotel Indianapolis sits proudly towards the top of that short list. Why? They didn’t miss a beat on the details of the space. The hotel is inspired by a time when nothing came easy, but they ensure their guests take it easy every once ..read more

Who else grew up eating Persimmon Pudding this time of year? Looking at you, fellow Indiana folx! Well this year I’m trading it in for a booze forward alternative cause if 2020 has taught me anything.. it’s that everything is made a little bit better with the addition of Santera Tequila – Persimmon Margaritas being no exception. The tartness of the persimmon pairs perfectly with the smoothness of this Reposado expression, and the cinnamon sugar rim really sweetens the deal. Grab the recipe below AND then head to ShopSantera.com to order a bottle (or two) of #SanteraTequila for yourself ..read more
