The Newt in Somerset has been somewhat of a sanctuary for me during lockdown. The architecture and gardens never fail to impress and the attention to detail is outstanding! The Newt celebrates all that Somerset has to offer and is yet another attraction that has put Bruton on the map. This grand Georgian property is located just off Queen Square in the centre of Bath City. Despite its prime urban location, Queen’s Parade backs onto Royal Victoria Park, which has to be one of my favourite places in Bath. If you have not visited the Botanical Gardens there, it is well worth a trip. My commission was to photograph a couple of the flats which had become available for the private landlord. We met with Jess & Andy in Winchester long before their wedding day to find out about their plans. We packed our bags and photography kit in preparation for Marion & Sam's two day wedding celebrations in the Rhône-Alpes region, East France not far from the borders of Switzerland & France. Charlie & Andy love all things magical and wanted an Autumnal feel for their engagement session. Charlie & Andy also love animals, so with New Forest ponies wandering around the New Forest seemed like the perfect setting.  Charlie made a beautiful Autumnal bouquet with seasonal flowers and handmade her floral crown and they even hired a 1940's vintage bicycle for the day. We met Amy & Chris at their beautifully renovated hill top home in Bradford-on-Avon, not far from the city of Bath. We managed to dodge the showers and the grey skies cleared just in time for their engagement session. Chris was a perfect tour guide, showing us Amy & his favourite spots, we wandered past grand Georgian buildings, went down to the river Avon, passed an old Saxon church and on to a 14th century Tythe Barn. Ellie & Raphael married at their local church beside the river Thames in Putney, London. The church was filled with candles and their ceremony was beautiful with singing, readings, tears and giggles! Following the ceremony guests went aboard a golden route master to The Bingham Hotel, a beautiful boutique hotel backing onto the river in Richmond-upon-Thames. The reception was stylish with personal handmade touches, made by Ellie and her friends.
