I own a auto shop that was broken into a couple of weeks ago. Before this incident we have had a few cars that were parked outside broken into but this was the first time the broke into the business.
We have individual alarm and CCTV security camera systems. The alarm worked as should during the break in as did the camera system. It was a smash and grab where the thieves were gone in about 5 minutes. The thieves made entry, grabbed a few things and realized there were cameras and ripped one of the cameras DVRs and smashed it in the parking lot. The one left behind showed the footage of them b ..read more

Last year I've set up my Home Camera and it comes with CamHi software. I set up my mobile phone and a family phone to connect. Now I upgraded my phone and forgot the password. Is there any way to recover it from the old phone that is still connected so that I won't have to completely reset the camera and start all over again ?

Hi there, I have some old analog cameras outside my home and this ancient DVR that's dying. I'm renting and I'd like to find a new unit to plug the old cameras into. I'm in Australia, and would appreciate any suggestions

Hello,
I have a hikvision nvr with 4 hikvision cameras connected via poe. Builder of the house had run four rj45 wires from the camera locations to a combined place in the house where i place the nvr.
Unfortunately, one of the wires seems damaged, I've tried cutting it and re-attaching a connector but the camera still doesn't connect (some wires flash in the nvr rj45 port which means it is seeing some sort of connection but not enough). I tried the other camera elsewhere and tried using a different wire to the rj45 port and both work fine so its definitely the wire. I've reached the end of th ..read more

I currently have an older Analog Lorex System. I am having issues and with the addition of a large workshop behind my house I am ready to upgrade to a POE system.
I have installed Lorex at my old work and for 2 friends and it generally works okay for me. But I am willing to explore other brands.
Questions:
- I have learned that Lorex is rebranded Dahua, is buying Lorex better for a single consumer DIY?
- I am not entirely thrilled with camera options offered by Lorex, I noticed Duhua has some great options like fish eye lens, but I assume to use these types of cameras I need to use Dahua NVR ..read more

Hi, I recently had hikvision 2MP cameras installed with a DVR capable of real time playback at 2MP quality but its encoding capability is 1080 lite, so the only way to view the cameras at full quality is through a monitor connected to the DVR. The DVR model is DS-7208HGHI-M1.
Is there any way to have the same quality on my PC? Or the only solution would be to get another DVR? Having 1080p cameras and just getting that 1080p on live playback directly from the dvr is a bit annoying. I'm not very knowledgeable about all this stuff yet so any help would be appreciated.
Thank you very much.

So, I want to update my existing camera (garbage) with something way better,
I have this configuration https://imgur.com/a/Qu1wq5H
A middled position camera, 10 meters (30 feet) high, and would like to cover the width of my house and a little bit of the road in front, another 10 meters (30 feet) wide of area,
I have a wired connection, and have a wifi strong enough to be able to connect there,
So, what specs should I look for? Any recommendation from amazon?
Also, easy to read and manage the videos, (that has been a pain previously) without monthly charges,
Maybe it stored in its local storag ..read more

Does anyone have an (Eyemax?) Magic U DVR that has gone through the process of adding memory? I can't find much documentation on it because the labels are all worn off but my work has this DVR with two 4tb drives in it and after adding some 8mp cameras storage is a bit tight. I plopped a 18tb WD Purple in there and hit format, it said it was successful but it did not add it to the pool. Do I need to format all drives as a whole or am I just doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance!
