Thank you to Walmart for sponsoring this post. With each house we’ve moved to, my little ones’ playroom has always been my favorite room to put together. The holidays make a great time to do this as their gifts can serve double duty for completing a room and having fun. Here’s a few items that I always start with when designing a playroom. Walmart has created great home gift guides for everyone on your list, and I especially like their one for kids which you can find here! If you’re not looking for gifts for kiddos, you can find their other gift guides here. 1. Floor Baskets Floor baskets, li ..read more

Thank you to Wayfair for sponsoring this post! A patio makeover doesn’t have to break the bank; a few simple touches go a long way in creating an inviting space to gather friends, family, and neighbors! Here are 4 ways to refresh your patio space this summer! #1 Update your wall lights Updating your wall light(s) is an easy way to upgrade your space and make a big impact. Paint Colors In Our Home

MAIN COLORS Benjamin Moore Classic Gray –This is the color we have on almost all the walls in or home. It’s a very warm, very light gray. It does have a tendency to go beige in some lighting conditions, but when it’s at its best, it’s BEAUTIFUL. Benjamin Moore Simply White – All of the trim in our home is Simply White including the paneling in our living room. We also had our kitchen cabinets built in this color. It is a warm white and a great combination with Classic Gray. Benjamin Moore Chelsea Gray – This is a medium gray ..read more

My 10 Must-Have Baby Items
Katie Lamb

While there are many other items required for a baby like a carseat, diapers, etc., here are my top ten favorite baby items that make the early days a little easier! #1 | Nursing Cart I got this idea from @karrie_locher over on Instagram, and it is so helpful! I have it organized with all my breastfeeding essentials (breast pump, burp cloths, snacks, water bottle, nipple creams, etc.!) Makes it very easy to move around as needed and keeps everything in one spot. #2 | Haaka This is AWESOME. It’s a silicon breast pump that you simply suction on to the opposite side you are nursing on, and ..read more

Basement Kitchen Makeover
Katie Lamb

Source list at bottom of post. This post contains affiliate links. This was the last major renovation we had for the inside of our house and one I was looking forward to the most. Our basement is where our kids’ playroom is as well as my office and the guest room/guest bathroom, so we spend a lot of time down here – especially in the winter when we can’t be outside. BEFORE The cabinets themselves, while dated, were solid wood and in great shape (well aside from the giant male genitalia drawn on them with sharpie from teenagers/previous owners); however, it was very much set up like a 1980’s ..read more

This post contains affiliate links. Full source list at bottom of post. Incase you are new around here, we bought a 1980s fixer upper two years ago and have been making it our own one project at a time. While I do most of our renovations myself, we hired a lot of this one out. See the before photo below. It’s pretty crazy to see the difference in our shower/toilet area. I think it really goes to show that you have to have vision if you are buying a fixer upper! Below is the before photo of the exact same space (that we actually lived with for a year while saving for this renovation). I remo ..read more

When planning our baby boy’s nursery, I wanted it to be peaceful and simple. Since this room has a slanted ceiling that follows the roofline, I painted it all white (Benjamin Moore Simply White) in order to not draw attention to the shorter wall where the ceiling/roofline meets, which also helps make the space appear larger. My parents gifted us this crib (also comes in white). SHOP THIS PHOTO JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate ..read more

We love eating on our deck most every meal in the spring, summer, and fall, so I wanted a table that allowed more space for people to sit but not take up so much room on our deck like our previous round table. Creating a custom table seemed like the perfect idea ….. at 25 weeks pregnant! As with all of my home projects, I did this one 100% on my own. I always mention this to encourage all you moms and wives that you don’t need to wait on your husband to buil ..read more

Laundry Room Makeover

This post includes affiliate links. This was a very easy and affordable project as the only costs involved were a few pieces of shiplap and $5 worth of lumber for the shelf; otherwise I already owned everything needed. Here is a look at what this room looked like a few days ago: After some shiplap, paint, and a simple shelf, here is how it looks now! I approached this very similar to my floating desk, so be sure to check out that post for more information as well as my saved highlights on Instagram called “Laundry Room”. The only thing different is that I didn’t use a front support piece of ..read more

DIY Office and Floating Desk
Katie Lamb

This post contains affiliate links. While we prepare for our surprise-miracle baby boy, we’ve had to move some rooms around in our house to make way for a nursery. My former office will now become the guest room, and while we have the space to move my desk out into the playroom, I want the kids’ space to be a free for all where balls can safely go flying, everyone can run sprints if they feel the need, etc. Having my workspace and computer out in the open just wasn’t ideal for that, so I decided to convert this little area of our basement into my new office area. It was an unused space that al ..read more
