Are you working on anything for publication? The next issue of the JR Journal is on a deadline. It has to be shipped in mid-July in order to be in your hands before the annual ANA convention and our annual meeting. We need your submissions by June 1 to be able to format the articles and have the journal printed and shipped on time.
Can you help us? Please let me know if you will be sending us anything for publication.
Thanks,

From the editor:
The JRCS learned that Albert Ingram recently passed away. Those who knew Albert were impressed by his collection of capped bust half dimes by Logan-McCloskey numbers. He had held the number one spot in the PCGS Registry for half dimes for about two years. Here is a link to his set, which he named “Life After Cattle”

Due to personal and professional reasons Winston Zack is not going to be able to assume the position of editor of the JR Journal.
That means that I will be taking care of it for the foreseeable future.
If anyone has been working on an article I would appreciate getting it soon. We are behind schedule and then will have to have a quick turnaround for the next issue, the pre-ANA. So, if I can not fit all the articles in this issue I will then have a start on the next which will include the Bust Quarter census.

Here is a nice-looking half dollar I put into my coin collection today. I thought I would share it as eye candy for the JR Newsletter. It is an 1806 O-123 an R.5- variety. The coins appearance is exceptional (in my opinion).
Take care,

The 1832 LM-9.1 Capped Bust Half Dime being offered in David Perkins' January 2024 SB Half Dime Sale as Lot 2407 is an old friend of mine. Don was a knowledgeable collector-dealer best known in Bust Halves circles. After some haggling, I was able to acquire the coin from Don via a private transaction.
