System Priority Issue Pyramid

We are having a debate in the office about the Priority pyramid. I strongly feel that it is correct in the following: https://bimcorner.com/system-hierarchy-and-clash-matrix-in-bim-coordination/ My colleague feels that a pyramid diagram always has the most important stuff at the top. i.e. the values should be the other way round. Architecture and structure at the top. My reasons it makes sense the way it is: It's like a food pyramid, eat lots of the stuff down the bottom as a good foundation to a good diet. and likewise with a building... get the foundations wrong and the sprinklers don't ma ..read more

Hello I'm working on developing a new tool inside Revit for my Master's. it aims to develop a chatbot plugin inside Revit that can do clash detection and answer simple questions. later on I will try to develop more. the workflow in my current company is that the BIM coordinator does the clash detection on Navisworks then exports Clash reports PDF and share it with the design team to fix the issues. Usually, the design team tries to locate each issue by element ID. i believe having clash detection inside Revit will reduce the delay of collecting the Weekly NWCs specially if we have different c ..read more

Is possible to use cadblocks templates for the plan view look of components but maintain the manufacturer's 3D look.

My boss wants to use the CADblocks he did on AutoCAD and use it on our ceiling plan but we need to use a specific revit lighting fixture I've got from the interior designer because she will need the file eventually to do Archviz. Is it possible to modify the 2D plan view look of a downloaded lighting fixture from a manufacturing websit but maintain it's original 3D look? I can't seem to find a good tutorial on youtube on how to do this. submitted by /u/Potential-Song9484 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi there, I'm a BIM Manager at a medium-sized company and I've been looking at getting into Data Centre design and construction. I was wondering if anyone may advise me on what the best approach is - I don't have any experience but would like to learn more about it. Are there specific courses I would need to do prior to venturing into this sector? submitted by /u/anonimalistic [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello everyone, I am currently working on my dissertation entitled ‘Should we model everything?’. Essentially, the research dives into LoDs, and the feasibility and benefits of modelling every constituent part of a building. I would appreciate if you could fill out this survey – there are only three questions and won't take longer than a minute. (All replies will remain anonymous). Thanks in advance, S. https://forms.gle/YjELJPi1bgmPKKwn9 submitted by /u/_kota47 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
