Why use a Shavette? Instead of using several tiny blades in tandem like a modern shaver, a single blade razor like the Shavette spreads pressure over a smaller surface area, allowing for a much closer shave. While it provides the same unbeatably close shave of a traditional cut throat shaver, the Shavette razor differs by allowing you to snap in and use a replaceable, interchangeable double-edged blade.
Curious why some wet shavers swear by it to provide the closest shave ever? Here are our top tips to achieve the best shaving results with our Shavette:
Allow plenty of time. You wi ..read more

When it comes to beards, often you will be left needing a trim but not a full shave. And for this it is usually perfectly fine to tackle the problem without a razor. All you need to give your beard a lighter and natural look is....a good quality pair of scissors.
Choosing scissors
Make sure that your scissors are rust free and have no imperfections such as notches in the blade. Using old, tired scissors with such imperfections can result in tugging your beard and may cause you to tear the hair rather than cut it. Do not use scissors which are not designed for your beard. Finding it difficult to get new ideas for a Halloween costume? Then look no further. Ever noticed a red and white striped pole displayed outside of barber shops? Yes, that nice looking spinning thing. For your information, it could be a legitimately spooky Halloween costume. Find out why!
Here is the grisly truth behind the barber’s pole.
The barbershop, as you may know, was not always the friendly, chatty social centre where men relaxed while having a shave, haircut or beard trim. Centuries ago, it was a grim and grisly place where you suffered the ministrations of the barber-surgeon who ofte ..read more

Yes, they reduce the chances of bacterial infection and add a layer of protection to your skin. Without getting too medical here, whatever your reason to grow a beard is, at some point you’ll be cursed with…THE BEARD ITCH.
Why does it start up in the first place? Well, supposing you’ve been shaving for years – all that scraping toughens up your bristles so when they do start to grow out they can irritate your skin ..read more

In terms of a satisfying experience, there’s something about a traditional wet shave that’s a step up from a quick skim with an electric razor or a multi-blade throwaway. Once you’ve acquired the skill, you’ll experience the closest shave you’ve ever had.
Step 1: Prepare
The skin beneath your beard needs to be protected from the razor’s cutting edge and your beard should be softened. That’s why begin with the hot, damp towel or hot shower. Or both, if you have the time.
Shower. Although you don’t need a hot shower before you shave, it’s a great way to get a lot of hot water onto ..read more

Acne Vulgaris is the most common human skin disease, affecting quality of life of millions worldwide. In spite of heroic basic and applied research efforts, we still lack indisputably curative anti-acne agents, which target multiple pathogenetic steps of acne (sebum overproduction, unwanted sebocyte proliferation, inflammation) and, moreover, which possess favourable side effect profiles. Investigations over the last two decades have confirmed unambiguously that the human body expresses such receptors, which are able to specifically bind and recognise characteristic terpene-phenol compounds of ..read more
