Autodesk has announced its research project Bernini focused on developing generative AI for professional geometric workflows, capable of generating multiple functional variations of a 3D shape from a given input.
Named after the famed 17th Century Italian sculptor and occasional architect, Gian Lorenzo Bernini, in its first experimental guise, the software is capable of generating functional 3D shapes from a variety of inputs including 2D images, text, voxels and point clouds, although at this stage is not available for public use.

Protolabs has increased its 3D printing production capability in Europe with two new HP Multijet Jet Fusion 5600 Series systems installed at its Putzbrunn facility in Germany.
Launched in November 2023 at the Formnext event, Protolabs is one of the first European companies to put the 3D printers to work in round-the-clock production.

Mantle has announced the release of its new material, 420 Stainless Steel, a chemical equivalent to traditional stainless steel for 3D printing steel tooling.
This material addition improves speed in the manufacturing process while reducing labour requirements and is especially useful in industries that require corrosion-resistant tooling, such as the medical industry.

Stratasys has announced the release of its SAF HighDef Printing capabilities as well as its new 3D printer, the H350 Version 1.5 (V1.5), with both intended to improve service and performance.
SAF HighDef Printing will be part of a firmware update compatible with the H350 V1.5 as well as previous H350 printers, available at no additional cost for Stratasys customers.
Stratasys says that the new H350 V1.5 printer features improved sensors and remote service capabilities, making it easier to operate and service than previous models, and will come with the firmware update already installed.
