Chisel Tips of Markers Can Help!
I Teach Stamping

Are you looking for a fast and unique way to make a background for your cards? This is a super fun way of doing that! The chisel end of a marker can often be the red headed step child of a marker. It's not as smooth as a brush end and it's not as crisp as a bullet tip. BUT, it can do many things that the others two can, which is why they exist. One of my favorite ways to use it is what we are going to do today. We are going to scribble like a 3 year old who just got ahold of a marker and needs to go to town with coloring on something, but we will show some slight restraint and use it on card s ..read more

Y'all ready for another cute card? I hope so, because I have one for you but I also have a great tip regarding the cover plate die that I used. I used the Verbena ink pad and the Goldenrod ink pad to make this card. I used two stamp sets to create this card, and I love how well they worked together. But it's the adorable cover plate that really make this card come together in my opinion. Main Supplies Here's the main list of supplies that I used: Today's Project Here's our adorable card using the Serena cover plate die, the Birthday Stacks stamp set, and the Pedaling By stamps and die cuts. I'm not going to shy away from this statement…. I LOVE this card! I love it so much I can't even stand it! If you know me at all, I love yellow and black together as a color combination. I've recently posted this card and this card using yellow and black. When I first got my hands on the Beach Blankets and Brellas stamp set, this was the card I knew I wanted to make. It took several tries to get it just right. Do you ever have those cards that are almost right, but not entirely? The game changer was black and white striped patterned paper. Simple, easy, and on point! I used a sentiment from a ..read more

Another Take on Black and Yellow
I Teach Stamping

I recently shared this yellow and black handmade card. I still keep looking at it and loving it. This card came about from one of the sketches in Vol 3 of Card Sketch of the Month. While I had used up my scraps making my recent card, it was well worth it to make more! Today's project is a different because there isn't any stamping! It keeps the scraps, and I rotated the orientation of the card and then BAM – stuck a giant word die cut on there! One of the things I love most about this card is how the top panel with the yellow and black stripes is raised with foam tape. And then the letters ar ..read more

Using the Stencil & Stamp Tool
I Teach Stamping

I love using stencils! I love everything about them, from picking them out, picking out my blending tools, my inks, putting ink on the stencil – everything except for the stencil moving. Even just the smallest shift can take a piece of cardstock from stunning to trash can, right? And it never happens at the start of the stenciling, it's always at the end! There are several ways to keep your stencil from shifting, but the newest on the market is the Stencil & Stamp Tool from Sizzix. Screenshot Not only is this a stamp positioner, it's also a stencil positioner – that holds your stencil in T ..read more

Sunny Thoughts Summer Handmade Card

I have had so much fun using the stamps and dies from the Resort Bundle! They are a new release from Sizzix with their newest licensed designer, Catherine Pooler. I love the summer vibes from this great bundle. Lately I've been doing more and more ink blending. It's been a lot of fun using inks that were designed to be blended. Still keeping in my style of card making, ink blending adds such great texture and depth, in just a few minutes. Let me share with you what I came up with: How fun is this card? I love the gradient yellow bar that has the sentiment so much! It's made with Post It Tape ..read more

One of My Most Favorite Color Combinations
I Teach Stamping

Hi friends! Today we are playing with one of my most favorite color combinations EVER for card making. Yellow and black – and no, it's not a bee card! This card started from a sketch in Card Sketch of the Month Vol 3 and I took it in a different direction. I have this large, yet simple, flower stamp that I wanted to use with this design and I had leftover scraps from the video I made using the sketch I talked about above. I love that the flower image is a 3 part stamping = the image, the lines, and the dots – so I could make them all different colors if I wanted to. I thought that flower would ..read more

Today we are making a simple thank you card that is also super cute! It's been so much fun to grab random stamping supplies and just go to town with creating, and today's project is exactly that. I love big sentiments. Always have and I feel like I always will. You can make stunning cards in no time at all, with just a few other touches. Today's project has a giant sentiment, ink, a die cut frame, and a couple of accessories – that's all! And, because I love you all more than I love my sock drawer – which is A LOT! – I made you a video to go along with it. The Project Here's our cute project ..read more
