From the infamous Paul Mescal chain to Harry Styles’ pearls, men’s bling is everywhere. So how does a newbie get in on the act? Plus the pieces to wear right now Something’s caught my eye recently – men around town are wearing lots of jewellery. TikTok and Instagram are full of it. Love Island Lotharios in pearls! Timothée Chalamet in a Cartier candy-inspired necklace! Good lord, Jacob Elordi’s thermometer-busting eyebrow piercing in Saltburn. All roads lead back to Harry Styles, with his rock star rings and grandmother trinkets. As well as former Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele, wh ..read more

Here, men share the fun and freedom they’ve found in wearing them A few years ago when I was in the midst of moving into a new apartment, I cut my finger while slicing a tomato. It was so bad I thought I needed stitches and I didn’t have a first-aid kit easily accessible, so I called my youngest brother, who was working as a junior doctor at a nearby hospital. He came over with what he called the Rolls-Royce of Band-Aids, applied one carefully to my finger and asked me if I’d help him choose a skirt to wea ..read more

I’m not ashamed of my ankles, or of my M&S underpants. But why flaunt them? Blokes wearing hats indoors – beanie hats. What’s that all about? It does my, well, head in. But seriously, why? I was in a fancy restaurant yesterday morning and there a chap was, beanie on, tapping importantly on a laptop, nibbling on something or other without taking his eyes off the screen. What with this intellectual endeavour – on top of the generous, ambient warmth of the room – his brain would surely overheat. Let it breathe a bit, mate, for heaven’s sake. If there is some shame or insecurity in play here ..read more
