These are my pigs carnitas and buche. I was told carnitas (right) is about 8 years old and a vietnamese x julian(?) mix. I was told Buche is a mini pig _ and he's about a year and some change. Im semi-new to pigs, as l've had carnitas for two years and buche for one. They both have been lovely pigs, and laze around my little farm daily. They were both being given away for free at separate times so I am not their first owner. I hope to learn more about pigs through this subreddit and am excited to join ? Our sweet boy just turned 10 and has had a a lump on the right side of his chin. It appears to be some sort of abscess and it has popped, with pus oozing out of it. Has anyone experienced this with their pigs? We are in the process of looking for a new vet as our previous one retired.

My mom had recently got us a pig, a mini-one i believe and everything seemed fine but recently he started losing hair in small patches around his sides and behind his ears. His skin seems to be pink and flakey, i'm not really sure if the pink part is normal or not. But the worst part is randomly while he was in my kitchen he just lost control of his legs and started squealing, he kept crying but eventually got up like nothing happened. I'm really worried for him but most of the stuff i see online is just related to him potentially blowing his coat, cause besides that one weird thing he's fine ..read more
