Our client, Matt Vane, shares with Egg Farmers of Canada about his life as a farmer:
“Welcome back to our regular Q&A feature, Ask an egg farmer!
In this edition, we speak with Matt Vane, an egg farmer based in Chilliwack, BC. Matt became an egg farmer in 2011 thanks to the British Columbia Egg Marketing Board New Producer Program—a program designed to make it easier for new egg farmers to get a start in the industry.
Today, Matt runs Cherry Creek Enterprises with more than 7,500 egg-laying hens. Matt is incredibly proud to be an egg farmer, and because of his hard work and dedication, Ca ..read more

“Canadian chicken farms are run by hardworking men and women who take to heart their responsibility to uphold animal health and welfare on their farm and share Canadian values,” says Mr Fontaine, chair of Chicken Farmers of Canada. “They are proud ambassadors in promoting and defending their good management practices, and believe that there is no defense for the mistreatment of birds.”
At Denbow, we agree! There is lots of misleading information out there and we thought that this article from The Poultry Site was helpful in clarifying the facts.

The day finally arrived for the 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament put on by a great team from the BC Hatching Eggs and BC Chicken Growers associations. On this day, the weather forecast was not looking very co-operative for us fair-weather golfers! The happy recipients and the chairs of both associations, Bryan Brandsma and Dale Krahn ..read more
