The Eggpreneur model trains and engages Women egg farmers, also known as "Eggpreneurs" to develop, knowledge and skills and partnerships for sustainable egg production. This model aims to use poultry farming techniques as a tool to eradicate child malnutrition while creating jobs and increasing household income for Kenyan women in rural communities.

Fridah never attended a training workshop but bought 20 chicks from Eggpreneur early in 2019. Unfortunately she’s been struggling with disease and limited resources to improve the living conditions of her chickens, so she’s lost many of them. Ruth and Ann (Eggpreneur team members), and Lauren and I (Fellowes) visited her homestead and found that earlier that day she had mistaken a chick to be dead, so she left it to die on the roof of the small poultry structure.
