Burnaby athletes shine at the 2023 Canada Winter Games
Athletes from Burnaby made a strong contribution to Team BC’s record medal haul at the 2023 Canada Winter Games in Prince Edward Island.
The BC contingent won a record 103 medals – 42 of them gold – at the 2023 Games, topping the province’s previous high of 88 medals won at both the Halifax 2011 and Prince George 2015 Canada Winter Games. BC earned third spot in the PEI overall medal count behind Quebec and Ontario.
Burnaby athletes won nine medals in badminton, judo, squash and table tennis.

International and first-time events highlight return to sport in Burnaby in 2022
From the debut of lacrosse sixes to the first national dragon boat training camp to provincial soccer tournaments, sport events returned to Burnaby in a big way in 2022.
