Family members and the community are calling for justice after a young boy was killed in a drive-by shooting in Fort Lauderdale earlier this week. Family and friends of Carol Tormey are desperate to find her — the 81-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s has been missing since Sunday. The Fort Lauderdale Police Department said a silver alert was issued. Her family and friends gathered at a shopping plaza in Fort Lauderdale Friday to distribute flyers.  Tormey was last seen on the night of July 21 in Fort Lauderdale on South Ocean Lane near 15th. Video shows the moments two pedestrians crossing the street were hit by a truck in Bay Harbor. It happened July 19 along 96th Street and Bay Harbor Terrace. The video shows two people walking on the crosswalk when a work truck, while making a left-hand turn, hit them. The driver gets out of the truck and appears to call 911. The Miami Dolphins signed quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to a four-year contract extension valued at a franchise-record $212.4 million, according to a media report Friday. At an average of $53.1 million per year, Tagovailoa will rank third in the NFL in quarterback pay behind Jacksonville’s Trevor Lawrence and Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow. An armed home invasion robbery at a Miami Airbnb that uncovered a marijuana trafficking operation has two men facing drug charges and three others facing charges in the robbery. The incident unfolded around 12:45 a.m. Thursday at a home in the area of Southwest 5th Street and Southwest 58th Street in the Flagami area. In fact, AirNow.gov is forecasting the air quality to go from the “good” to “moderate” range by Sunday. The dust is expected to arrive on Sunday and Monday, and the thickest cloud will go right over Cuba and the Bahamas.
