Are circular gold glasses allowed in uniform or considered too trendy? 670-1 is a little vague submitted by /u/wtfthoo [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Question for Senior NCOs

So we are having a dine with our CSM soon and a few senior enlisted to ask about what we can do for our careers. Personally this is great I believe having the ability to chat with leadership like this is awesome especially for the new soldiers. But my question is what do yall believe is the best advice besides go to these schools, score high on the ACFT and weapons card ect. But rather what makes a soldier and junior NCO truly stand out as a great leader. Just asking cause I’m curious and wanna grab all the knowledge I can. submitted by /u/No_Physics6177 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Looking for an appropriate DODI or Army Regulation if it exists.

So a USAR soldier I know is due to separate in February of 2025. This is the end of her Military Service Obligation; no IRR time left. I'm well aware that SMs can be involuntarily extended for a deployment if they have remaining MSO. However, there is a deployment scheduled that would end several months after her MSO. Any answers are appreciated. I can't seem to find a clear policy about stop-loss or even if it applies in this situation. Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/Terrapin11 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Why and How Often Does VA Drop a 100% Rating??

New and navigating the retirement process. Have a few serious but treatable medical conditions (currently in treatment). Acknowledge the need for a good VA rep with my file. I keep hearing about “100% dropped to 90%…” or similar. Why does this happen? Can it be prevented? For context: 32yrs active service. Have seen some expert stuff shared here so… TIA ? submitted by /u/DragonGirl72 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I am awaiting my Attrs reservation for the Academy. Both my branch manager and retention are saying that I am guaranteed to go to Jackson upon completion of the Academy. How is life on the trail at Jackson? What are some tips for marriage survivability? What does the weekly schedule look like per phase? I’m just trying to absorb as much information to prepare my wife and kids for the journey ahead. submitted by /u/airbizzle_diesel [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I need serious help I'm not sure what to do I've been looking at the military as a way to dodge some stuff back home. I've been feeling pretty useless lately, like I've let everyone down for not going to school or learning a trade after high school. I thought maybe the military could give me a fresh start, but the more I think about it, the more I realize it might not be the right move for me. I've already been to meps and everything and they told me to report may 28th can I still back out I haven't slept for days and I don't know what to do submitted by /u/That_Demon_Doggo [visit reddit] [c ..read more
