I posted this as a comment on another post, but I wanted to see what people thought about this.
Obviously, as you’ll read, this isn’t my idea but rather how the pay for the Australian Defense Forces work. Personally, in my opinion, this is better as it rewards/incentivizes those that do more while it doesn’t for those that want to do the minimum.
As well, understand that when you see their pay, their benefits work very different than ours and understand that just because you see a $ sign, it doesn’t correlate to the amount in USD (different country, different cost of living). I’d say if you w ..read more

Securing a waiver in the Air Force involves a lengthy multi-step process. No medication in the past 24 months, a comprehensive mental and neuropsych evaluation, and two physicians attesting you no longer have ADHD. I recently got out of the Army and get contacted at least 6 times a week for scam/spam job offers. It only started after I got out. Is this common? Did SFL-tap release my information out to the public? I’d be pretty upset if that is why I’m getting so many messages. I haven’t applied anywhere since I’ve been out, I’ve been a SAHD so it’s not like I’m putting applications in online or anything like that.

And what if it were about 6 years ago and the SM was retained and then went back and completed.
Is there still a decent shot for promotion later?

Currently my reserve unit has 40 people show up to drill. A platoon of HHC and mechanics, and a platoon of signaliers. We can get our work done in two days and be mission capable. Would be nice to have more but we make it work
When we were deployed, we had about 6 Red Cross messages come through. None got denied. Some of them were for relatives that weren’t birth parents (aunts uncles grandmas grandpas etc).
Maybe our commander and 1SG managed everything well?
Just don’t know why AD units freak out or I hear stories about them
Random question, when did the 85% metric for officers begin, regar ..read more
