Hello Magpies I’m back today with my final layout, for the blog, using Bold and Bright by Vicki Boutin. I’ve really loved working with this collection & all it’s bright, vibrant colours. I still have loads left so will be using it for more layouts for sure. I wanted to add MM to my background so I added a coat of gesso to protect my cardstock & to help the colours flow. I’d already worked out that I wanted a central square so I just dragged my oxide inks in & around that area & added water to make them run. I used Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed & Spiced Marmalade. Hey Magpies First of all, I’m hoping you can see and watch my video. I think I have gremlins in my iPad and phone at the moment! I’ve uploaded this video three times, and it’s not showing on the list, but saying it’s uploaded!! If you can see my video, I’m showing you how to prepare and make easy paper flowers that can be used on scrapbook layouts, junk journals or make as paper clips. These are really easy to make, and can be made in under 10 minutes, so a good craft to do if you’re sitting in front of the TV. To (hopefully) watch my video, please click here. Thanks for watching! Hello Magpies, Helen here with my second project for July. This time I have used Poppy & Pear by Bea Valint from American Crafts. I have a thing about naked tags, there is a whole in them so it needs something strung threw, stamped too or stuck over. This time, I’ve used wax seals as tag toppers to cover the whole and gives a handy overlap for pulling the tag up if you are using them for hidden journalling or in pockets of a mini album/journal. I have a process video for this layou up on Youtube here so pop on over to take a look. Until next time! Prducts Used: Bea Valint – Poppy & ..read more

Hi everyone, Today I’m sharing my latest layout using the Colour Swatch Ochre collection from 49 & Market. I decided to use some frames to make a large cluster in the centre of the page. EXPLORE WESTONBIRT To start I stencilled some tiny dots in the central area using 2 shades of yellow ink. I chose the first frame to fit my photo & positioned it using temporary glue until I had decided where everything else was going. I cut 2 more frames in half & layered them behind the photo. Then I placed a note book tag behind the frames on the left & a thinner tag behind that ..read more

Hello Magpies Julie back with you again today & I’m sharing another layout using Bold + Bright by Vicki Boutin. I’ve really enjoyed this collection, with all it’s bright colours & for this layout I focussed on the blue, green & yellows, a favourite combination of mine!! I first brayered on some Mowed Lawn oxide ink  & splattered with some Salvaged Patina. I added some stamping, over the top, using some of the new Hey Little Magpie stamps, Script Background, Life Captured & Directions, this gives a subtle yet interesting background. I centered my 2 photos & added ..read more
