Hi there. I've always wanted to experience an earthquake because I'm curious as to what it feels like. I am blind, and I haven't really experienced a lot of things in my life, because my mother has always kept me sheltered. I live in Wisconsin, so it's not like we get earthquakes here. Those of you Who have been in an earthquake before, what does it exactly feel like? I know it feels like shaking, but that's really hard for me too wrap my head around. I just wondering what it exactly feels like? And I suppose different magnitude would feel very different from each other? I don't know, I've al ..read more

It's sort of like the world is coming to an end feeling, if that makes sense. Combination of hopelessness and panic, but it's not really that. I've never experienced this feeling, but only when the earthquake hit my area a few times and it wasn't even that strong.
Does anyone else experience this?

Hi all,
There was a fairly minor (4.1) earthquake that hit east of Los Angeles Wednesday afternoon. It was felt by a number of folk, but it also definitely didn't do any damage.
What I found interesting was that there were a number of 1.0-2.5 magnitude earthquakes that were clustered in the same area (~ 10 miles southwest of Corona, CA) on Tuesday afternoon. The last one was at 8 PM on Tuesday evening. Then, nothing at all, until the "big" (4.1) earthquake at 1:49 PM today.
