Medical Missions for Babies and Toddlers
Chicks For Children | keeping hope alive

A Pediatrician in Kenya wrote, “I was unaware of the babies from the Kipsongo slum. Thank you for my inclusion in this mission effort. My life and my practice has changed for a lifetime.” There was an urgent need for urgent care! Babies and toddlers from the Kipsongo slum were malnourished, infested with jiggers, and frequently sick. In partnership with the Makanis, a mission team, two local Pediatricians, and six health department staff answered the call; a humanitarian call to examine hundreds of babies and toddlers, test for HIV, inoculate for diseases, and remove jiggers from their feet ..read more

Jimmy and his wife, the late Melody Cooper, introduced a “Kids-Helping-Kids” lesson series on Receiving, Gratitude, and Giving. They shared pictures of kids from a small town in the states devastated by a tornado. Families were displaced from their homes and men, women, and children died.  The kids from the Kipsongo slum were saddened by such news. They commented, “What can we do? We have nothing to give?” Jimmy and Melody knew differently. They shared that God had ambitious plans and all of them were equipped with godly abilities, skills, and even personal possessions to help others.&nb ..read more

While our efforts cannot relieve all hunger, we are very grateful to our Chicks for Children donors who have donated for hunger relief. Considering the callousness and persistence of Covid-19, we continue to encourage donors to help our families. Anything you donate helps a family in need ..read more

Mentors Matter. Just ask Mom Hellen.
Chicks For Children | keeping hope alive

Young women from extreme poverty lack certainty about reaching their full potential. Such certainty precipitates a lack of motivation, feelings of hopelessness, a sense of worthlessness, and a tendency to give up. Those thoughts prevent an escape from the perils of poverty.  Hellen’s Heroes was introduced to help change those thoughts. The mentorship project was introduced in 2017 to connect successful women in the states with high school youth attending Seeds High School.  We named the project Hellen’s Heroes because of Hellen Makani, Co-founder, and Co-director of Seeds Ministry ..read more
