My cat has an issue where she won't eat food. She has an appetite (treats, chicken, etc.) but won't eat dry food. With wrt food, she just laps the gravy and leaves the meat. She has lost weight and it's kind of confusing what's going on. Any advice? I currently feed her Science Hill 11+ food. submitted by /u/Testiclesinvicegrip [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello everyone I’ve been feeding a colony of cats strays I’m working on getting them fixed waiting on some vouchers to come. These animals are pitiful and sweet I’m trying to help them people are so cruel and heartless these animals didn’t ask to be stays. Im from West Virginia we have vary little places here that’s for animals all the shelters are full and they are code red and that means they aren’t taking any animals in at all. I want to help these animals and keep them safe they don’t deserve this. I’m having a hard time right now with my help I can’t work. I’m a single mom of 2 beautiful ..read more

Do female cats have a transition phase post heat?
Reddit » Pets

Pre heat my cat is not a petting cat. What alerted me to the heat was that my cat was doing the constant meowing and need for constant petting and the low walking paired with bum in the air. Now my cat is in between. I think she’s coming out of it but she isn’t meowing as much but still more vocal than before and doesn’t need constant affection but still rubbing her face on everything (including my phone as we speak) and low appetite. Bum not in the air as much. Is there a transition phase back to normal? Or has her personality changed. I’m happy with either I just need to know. submitted by ..read more

Cat Won’t Stop Spraying In House

I have an almost 3 year old male cat who will not stop spraying in my house. It’s in every room over beds, sofas, carpets even up the walls! The smell is absolutely awful even after cleaning with enzyme spray. I’ve tried Feliway and it’s made absolutely no difference, taken him to the vets and there’s nothing wrong with him. There’s multiple litter boxes in the house with different types of litter in and he goes outside, he’s neutered. I have a dog and a 9 year old female cat, we’ve had him from 10 weeks old and he’s pretty much been doing this for the last 2 and a half years and I can’t take ..read more

Getting my Semi Feral Cat Back?

Hi everyone, I have been caring for 2 semi feral cats for a few years now outside. They started getting sick and stuck in crawlspaces recently, and I brought them both into my apartment a few months ago. This has been a very challenging year for me at work and emotionally, and this situation became very overwhelming for me. I already had my own cat so now I had 3 cats inside, and a cat allergy. I started having bad asthma. One of the cats, Olive, used to be a pet and he can be handled and picked up. The other cat, Red, is more feral and while I can get somewhat close to him I can not touch hi ..read more

My rat is still biting me…

I’ve had my two rats for about two months now. Wilson is lovely, affectionate and playful but Dave is really bitey, he snatches things and attacks Wilson on a daily basis. Dave has drawn blood on me once and my partner twice. He’s not drawn blood on Wilson as far as I’m aware. It’s making Wilson become introverted and jumpy, and it’s not fun for me and my partner either. I try and play with them for at least an hour a day but it isn’t a fun experience. Will this pass? Any advice? submitted by /u/Ok_Strawberry_4669 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Around 2am every night he will migrate from wherever he’s sleeping to my pillow. It’s like he wants to sleep on my head. He’s a 10yro rescue with cat flu and fiv. I love the cuddles but his breathing is so loud and he wing budge from my pillow. There are other pillows but he meows if I move him and will come back to the pillow I’m on as soon as I drop my guard. Any tips from cat owners would be greatly appreciated! submitted by /u/BeachBinger [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Is this neglect and should this pet be rehomed?

Is it neglect to leave your cat for 5-6 days a week and not return home at all in those days. The cat has an automatic feeder but his litter is not being cleaned daily. He is not getting any attention during the day. He howls all day while by himself. The owner of this cat has been asked to check on this cat daily or take him with her and she has done neither as it is not the roommates responsibility. Should this cat be rehomed? submitted by /u/Holiday-Ad-9886 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello Reddit, I am looking for some advice about my 2 year old Cavapoo pup. He's very picky with dog food both wet and dry. He's gotten so picky that my mom has to make him home cooked food consisting of rice and meat. mostly chicken or steak shredded up on the rice. I know this hardly gives him any nutrients and the rice is probably not good for him on a daily basis. What are some ways to break him into eating kibble or a preferred brand that dogs seem to like? He is very spoiled cause of his grandma always saving the day with home cooked food. even this doesn't work at times as he will ..read more

Prescribed Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Dry Cat Food at the Vet

Today my cat had an appointment, to go to the vet for his annual check up and renewal for vaccines. They told me he was underweight since he is 2 years old but weighs 6 pounds. This caught me by surprise because he doesn't look skinny and I feed him wet food from Fancy Feast twice a day. They suggested I get the royal canin gastrointestinal dry food to make him increase the weight. I did buy it for him right then and there but I felt like a terrible cat mom since I didn't realize he was underweight. What was the experience anyone has had with that brand? EDIT: he is a domestic shorthair cat ..read more
