First impressions matter! Introducing two unfamiliar dogs can be a stressful event for you and the animals. However, with a plan in place, you can ensure things go smoothly and facilitate a lifelong relationship.
Important tips:
Leave your current dog at home when you go to pick up your new dog. Managing the interaction of two new dogs while you are driving a car will not be possible and could cause tension in the confined space of your vehicle.

At the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society, we strive to find each and every animal that comes into our animal centres a safe and loving home. That is where the working cat program comes in.
Sometimes community cats end up in our centres and cannot be returned to their original colony site, for various reasons. The Ontario SPCA believes in finding an alternative home for these cats, by giving them “jobs” as working cats!

When Cesar arrived at the Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Animal Centre, the team knew right away that he is a special cat. Cesar instantly charmed everyone and was exceptionally affectionate. He is a cat who loves attention and would come in for a snuggle any chance he had. We knew Cesar would make a great companion and we had to find him the purrfect home.

This stands for Very Important Paws, and these are animals in our care who may need a little extra help.
