My doctor recommended the Cetaphil SPF 15 moisturizer to use in the morning, but it’s my second day using it and my face is super red and sensitive. Are there any alternatives people have tried and used instead? Any suggestions would be appreciated. submitted by /u/LumpyDuck22 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Benzoyl peroxide messing with my skin. Advice on how to fix my routine?

So, I’ve been using the Differin benzoyl peroxide 5% cleanser for a while and my skin has reached that stage where it’s very dry and flaky. It ONLY bothers me when I put my moisturizer on, other than that it’s fine. I use the Neutrogena hydro boost gel and when I put it on, it stings on the dry, flaky parts of my face. It doesn’t seem to be helping the flaky spots either. The burning subsides within a minute or so, and I’ve found that those flaky spots just pop back up a few minutes after that. I’ve struggled with hormonal acne for years so I’m truly glad that my skin is finally clearing up b ..read more

hi. im not extremely educated in skin care tho ive dealt with acne of all kinds for almost 10 years now. ive tried basically everything over the years and the products im using currently are really the only things that have ever shown improvement for me. ive been using them for over a year now. recently ive been wanting to incorporate tretinoin .025% and i thought it would be a good idea to check here and see what everyone thought about product order. id say i have combo skin but tends to be more on the dry side. the 1st pic is my current order tho im not sure its correct, 2,3,4 were my s ..read more

Tmi for cystic acne lol I have cystic acne and i freak tf out after they pop and i (idk if i have to) squeeze the rest out. I posted before abt acne but i really dont have the money to spend on medication. Its been getting worse and i know i have to see a doctor or something but ive just been putting it off bc of money, depression, anxiety and stuff. I feel like i have to pop them because they get so painful too. I know i really shouldnt but its hard not to because they just leak (gross ik) is there any way to know i will get scarring? My acne isnt that severe compared to others with cystic a ..read more

So , I had been struggling with acne for years. But since last winter it got really really bad (Which could be because I had been under a lot of stress and negative emotions following a death in my family and me being in a challenging degree) I have a lot of acnee , especially on my cheeks. It takes the forms of red hard lumps under my skin. It destroyed even more my already pretty fragile self confidence. Some days I pretend to be sick and wear a mask so no one have to look at my face. I tried a lot of stuff , including of course prescriptions such as Differin and oral antibiotics. However ..read more

I had pretty clear skin for the past year but within the past two months I have been constantly breaking out only around my nose and mouth, I’ve tried cutting my skincare routine down to basically just Vanicream as I saw it was suggested for repairing the skin barrier but nothing seems to be working. It’s very annoying and painful and im desperate for any solutions. submitted by /u/wesuitbusiness [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Moisturizer for dapsone and adapalene/benzoyl peroxide dryness?
Reddit » Acne

So I recently started a new skincare regimen per my dermatologist after suddenly getting acne at 22 (?). She has me doing dapsone in the morning and adapalene/benzoyl peroxide at night. Hasn’t been very long so not seeing any changes yet but still hopeful. But the biggest issue has been the DRYNESS. It hurts so so bad to put on moisturizer, sunscreen, makeup, anything. I realize I’ll have to deal with some burning in order to use moisturizer and I can put up with that if it’ll fix the dry skin, but I have no idea what I should be using. My derm said something gentle but there’s just so many o ..read more
