Three nights in Palermo gave us three days to explore the city. We strolled around the magnificent palazzi, fountains, and a world renowned opera house. Moreover the seaside was very special! We stayed in a nice older hotel but beautifully maintained – a beautiful old Palazzo in a very convenient location. Our room was large with in a big comfortable bed, TV with international channels, and a large bathroom with big, tiled shower. I started the two and a half hour bus ride from Catania to Palermo with the intent of reading.  But once we were out of the Palermo, I put the book down and did not read another word because the beauty of Sicily’s countryside captured my attention until we spilled out into a sweeping panorama of the sea on the outskirts of Palermo.
