Hey everyone, i was refused my B2-Visa under Section 221(g). I sent some documents and today i've got this email. It says: Reference is made to your nonimmigrant visa application which is currently undergoing administrative processing here in Frankfurt. We are nearing the final stages of reviewing your visa application. Please send us your passport. Please ensure that your passport has two empty visa pages for visa issuance before sending it in to this office no earlier than three months prior to your planned travel to the U.S. If it does not, you will need to apply for a new passport. F2 visa application timing for my wife as I transition from F1 to H1B soon

My wife plans to apply for an F2 visa and fly to the US this June. However, my F1 expires in the first week of August. I have secured an H1B cap-exempt position, and my employer intends to apply for my H1B this month with premium processing. I expect to have the H1B visa sometime in May, with a start date in the second week of August. I am not planning to apply for F1 OPT. Given this timeline, is it okay for my wife to apply for an F-2 visa? I would want my wife to be here before I transition to a new place. submitted by /u/Dry_Nectarine33 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Would money earned from social media be considered “income” (even if it’s like 30 dollars) and require you to have a working visa? Would earning money on social media with a F1 visa be illegal?

The questionnaire goes as follows 1. Is the country safe? 2. Scope of finance jobs in the country? 3. Best uni among these 4. Part time job opportunities 5. Living cost 6. Also a big doubt is that all these unis of NZ don't have a great semester exchange partner in India as well as abroad not that bad too but ya not the best like IIMs in Indi ..read more

US visa appointments in London

Hi, I’ve been having a hard time finding appointments for B1/B2 visas in the London embassy lately. The site almost always says no appointments available and once it even said next appointment is on December 2nd (we’re in April right now…). Any tips or advice on what to do to get something earlier? Are there specific times of the day when new slots are released? Are any of you seeing any slots for earlier than December? Any help would be appreciated ? submitted by /u/celestialsoupp [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey all I'm posting in behalf of my boyfriend since he doesn't have reddit. His parents crossed the border illegally when they were young and have been in the US for 30+ years. Their son (boyfriend) was sponsoring them to get citizenship. They had an appointment in Mexico for it but got denied and a 10 year bar instead. His parents said it was because some apology letter was needed. I'm trying to understand how all this works to help his parents and him. His two younger siblings were born in the US but are also having to stay in Mexico because they need their parents of course. So..what happe ..read more

Help Deciphering Annotation in US Visa

Hello! My spouse just received their passport back from the US consulate. The annotation says: Class A or B(TB) req. attn. of usphs at poe There was no red flags raised during the medical exam. We are confused as to why they would issue this without letting us know what it actually means. If he had TB, wouldn't they make him start treatment before? If he had a Class A, wouldn't he be inadmissible and require a waiver? Has anyone been issued this and found out why BEFORE flying to the U.S.? submitted by /u/greyhairbeast [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey y'all! We are moving from El Paso to South Carolina. My husband is retiring from the army next month. I overstayed my visa but I do have an immigration lawyer in South Carolina and we are already in contact. My question is about the border patrol out of El Paso. I have been through it multiple times but I also never said anything. I do have a military ID always with me of course. I don't have any documents besides my old ones which are expired. I do know it wasn't the best decision to overstay, but here we are now. Is there anything I can do or say just in case ? We are working on my gree ..read more

Lawyer messed up AOS filing fee

Hello, I am applying for an adjustment of status to get a temporary green card as I am now married. I hired an immigration lawyer to help me with it. Everything was good and she told me how much the filing fee would be for all the files. She then sent the application to uscis, only to realize three days later that she did not check the updated fee and that the check is not enough. She says they will send back the folder so we can file again and not to worry, but it's now been two weeks since uscis received the application (according to usps tracking), and no news. Any ideas on what I should d ..read more

If you brought parents on green card, did you claim them as dependents on next year’s tax return?

Or did they file independently? Why did you chose what you chose? And silly question my brother and I are fighting over - is it even “legal” for them to file independently since petitioner says they will take care of parents financially? (That sounds like the definition of “dependent”) Thanks Reddit submitted by /u/irishango [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
