I was throwing out an old bed skirt but i decided use the 'skirt' part as material for a cotton quilt. But it was held together with a queen mattress sized piece of olefin. What's a good use for this olefin? submitted by /u/barkbarkkrabkrab [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Colorfasting a bleeding shirt

Hi all, sorry if this isn't the right sub. I thrifted a mesh t-shirt that I wanted to use as a beach cover up, however I noticed that the fabric dye transfers really bad - I'm talking even rubbing off on my fingers when I adjust it. Of course it's even worse when it's wet, so not ideal for the beach lol. It's polyester so I know colorfasting might not work. Even if I can just make sure I wash it in a way that I can bleed all the dye out. Any suggestions? Thank you! submitted by /u/OrganicExcuse [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi, I've been starting a business of my own that customises automotive parts with fabric that has a self adhesive paper backing. The fabric is woven, cotton-like. Designs are mostly patterns with Japanese motifs, but that's besides the point. I've been buying the self adhesive paper backed fabric from Shopee, which has sources from China. I've been thinking of buying wholesale but sites like Alibaba do not have suppliers who are willing to manufacture fabric with a self adhesive on the back. I'm wondering - how can I start gluing the back of a fabric so that it has a self adhesive paper backi ..read more
