My husband and I also have R names, so despite joking that we would be that family if we picked another R name, we loved the name Romi too much to choose something else.
Now we have another baby girl arriving this summer and we can't decide whether to include her in the R naming convention or break her out of it.
Our surname is an Ashkenazic surname, so it goes well with a lot of Hebrew names, but we generally like short, unconventional, and cool girl names, we just can't agree on the same ones!
Non-R names on our lists:
Me: Eden, Este, Inez, Petra, Uma
Him: Eden, Este, Ellis, Joni, Sloane

Asking for a friend!
He has always legally gone by his Chinese name and last name, but due to professional reasons, it may be a logistical nightmare to change his first name. Is it possible he could add his English name as a middle name since he has never had one before? Will he have to go through the whole court process or is there a more informal way he can use it legally?
And on that note, if he goes by (2 syllable Chinese name) Dan (2 letter Chinese name) on paper, would it be clear enough that he wants to go by Dan? Vs Dan (2 syllable Chinese name) (2 letter Chinese name) that sounds nic ..read more

Hello! We are expecting our first child this summer, a girl. After MUCH agonizing we have whittled our name list down to just three names: Daisy Margaret, Mae Margaret or Maxine Margaret. (Margaret is chosen in honor of a loved one and is with certainty the middle name).
My husband is 100% in favor of Daisy, but I’m still torn evenly between the three. We aren’t soliciting opinions from any friends or family, so I would love to hear your perspectives on which you most prefer, and why!

I was wondering if anyone else has heard of anyone with the name Teesi. My late mother had this name. She was born in the 80’s and it’s pronounced “Tee-See”. I’ve looked around and haven’t found anyone else with the name.

hi there. My colleague suggested this subreddit to me as we are unable to agree a name - I would be grateful for your collective help!
We do not know the gender of the baby. Its siblings are a Phoebe and Owen. Surname is a monosyllabic colour. We are UK based.
We would prefer a classic name that can be shortened to something cute (i.e. one ending in a 'ie' or 'y' sound) but in full can pass a 'board room test'. Middle names are likely to be Susan, Debra or Sidney.
Given that my colleague lurks, I won't provide names we like but some things we both dislike:
names beginning with 'th'

I loved reading books by Judy Blume and Beverly Cleary as a kid and it always amaze me how authors can have such an eye for great names like
Farley Drexel Hatcher aka Fudge
Peter Warren Hatcher aka Pete
Tamara Roxane Hatcher aka Tootsie
Flora Hatcher
Fauna Hatcher
Melissa Beth Miller
Ramona Geraldine Quimby
Beatrice Ann Quimby
Henry Huggins
Juniper Beatrice Jones aka Junie B. Jones, with the most iconic quote of all time for those of us who needed time to warm up our names. “My name is Junie B. Jones. The B stands for Beatrice. Except I don’t like Beatrice. I just like B and that’s all.”

First impression, how old do you think he is, where do you think he is from, how do you imagine him to be...
(For those of you who love details: One of my friends is having her first and last baby in August, she doesn't want to know the gender and she has numerous criteria... She enlisted my help, I curated a list, and now I am trying to be diligent and go through the names one by one...)
