Well…we picked up one of the Tisas Raiders in 9mm. Looked like a fun clone gun. Especially for the price. And..it appears at that price, it immediately broke.  Best I can tell is the 9mm variants of the Raider are plagued with the same hammer-follow issued that is the subject of the world wide Tisas ..read more

Assessments:  After shooting the Tisas 1911a1, I was left with an impression that the sights are tracking left. Not low left. Just left. It shows up fairly consistently across 3-5-7-15-25 yards. Obviously at varying degrees of angle.  Hardware: The USGI 1911a1 sights, in-particular the front sight, present some challenges when compared to modern pistol sights ..read more

Second run with the Tisas USGI clone. 28 yards. USGI sights. After doing this, I have come to two conclusions. One, that rounded front sight really does suck. It doesn’t provide a sharp top of sight line for precision shots.  Second, I am having to hold this gun pretty far to the right to get ..read more

Tisas 1911A1 – 9mm – First Shots Ok. So hear me out. I intentionally targeted this gun since it is chambered in 9mm. We already have plenty of 45ACP guns in the library, including full customs and even a WWI MILSURP.  What we don’t have is a USGI format of gun that is chambered in ..read more

I have expressed some pretty pushy opinions about Tisas 1911s in the past. Specifically I have harped on price. In short, it seems like they provided good value; but have ever so slowly crept up in price. Negating that calculus.  But recently something Tisas offers caught my eye. It’s kind of a fantasy pistol if ..read more

Took these pics a little while back when I first saw the 2311 in a local FFL. At the time, I wasn’t planning on buying it, just sharing some images.  Within a few minutes of getting it out of the case, I felt like this warranted inclusion into the reference collection. The main reasons being ..read more

This video is a little, humorous, inside baseball that originated with Kraken’s visit out here a number of weeks ago.  Along those line, he posted a video demoing how his old Smith & Wesson guns will feed empty brass into the chamber.  So…not to be outdone, the Wilson EDC X9L can not be denied! Feeding ..read more
