Hey guys! I had my first problem with a LEGO S@H shipment.  I ordered a bunch of the holiday sets to take advantage of all the recent promotions and decided to have it shipped to my work address.  I work downtown and our building has a manned security gate 24/7/365.  I figured it was my safest option for delivery! I was wrong.  Last week I saw the shipping notification, but didn’t think much of it.  Monday I was out sick, so Tuesday I thought I’d track the package to see when I might get it.  I was shocked to see it was delivered on Saturday.  Excited, I star ..read more

Sorting LEGO – The never ending journey…
All About The Bricks

One of my never ending LEGO projects is sorting LEGO.  Specifically, I’m sorting a Large LEGO Lot (LLL) I bought a while ago.  This particular LLL came in two 20 gallon totes, and a small container on minifigures. To me, sorting LEGO is an iterative process; one you refine in subsequent phases.  Keep in mind, I am developing my methodology on the fly based on things I have read from others that came before me, and adjusting based on my own experience.  I’m not saying this is the way to do it.  All I’m saying is this is how I’m doing it today! A while back, I was checking online marketplaces for Lego sales and I came across an ad for a train table.  I don’t collect trains, and I have no idea why I clicked on it, but I did.  These are the pictures I saw. Notice anything??? I did!  I noticed there was a LOT of Lego sitting around in the background.  It got me thinking, if he’s selling his kid’s train table, maybe he’s selling other toys, so I asked about the Lego. He said he was definitely interested in selling it so I asked for a more detailed picture. This is what he sent me. Needless to say, I was VERY inte ..read more

Rebuilding LEGO Sets – My Process
All About The Bricks

Last week I showed you my process for sorting LEGO lots.  Today I’m going to show you how I go about rebuilding LEGO sets from large LEGO lots I purchase. Rebuilding LEGO sets for fun and profit Why bother rebuilding LEGO sets from mixed up madness?  Well, there a couple reasons you might want to do this. For one, you might really want a particular set.  Maybe you had it as a kid, and it was lost to the ages and you want to recapture that part of your youth.  Or maybe you wanted that set as a kid, but were never allowed to have it.  Now’s your chance! Another reason yo ..read more

Hi guys.  I’ve gotten a lot of questions recently about how I go about sorting Lego lots rebuilding sets from large Lego lots (LLL) I purchase.  Results may vary depending on what I get, but this is the system I’ve developed over the years.  I’ll try to illustrate the process using pictures from a recent LLL.   I can’t believe I forgot to take a picture of the tub before I got started….  Why Bother Sorting Lego Lots? Before I begin, let me take a moment to tell you WHY I go through the process of rebuilding order from chaos. My Lego hobby is self funded.  Thi ..read more

Ok.  This is one of the coolest things I have seen in a LONG time.  As of August 1st, we can build our own LEGO NES Systems! The set has 2646 pieces and will cost $229.99 USD.  There is even a crank on the side of the TV that allows the game screen to scroll! This one is a must have. At least 2020 is good for something… The post Build your own LEGO NES! appeared first on All About The Bricks ..read more

Welcome to Lego Bag End

This Lego Bag End is beautiful. It brings back so many great memories of the books and the movies. I really wish Lego would revisit this theme like they’re doing with Harry Potter right now. Until then, I’ll content myself with MOCs like this from Dylan Lane. The post Welcome to Lego Bag End appeared first on All About The Bricks ..read more
