Shaken baby syndrome?

So my 5 week old baby was sleeping in his swaddle. He has the tendency to pull the swaddle over his nose when he starts his bowel movements (we usually only swaddle him when one of us is awake for that reason). He began to cover his nose for several seconds and being extremely sleep deprived and finally getting a moment to sleep, I jumped out of bed and pulled the blanket down from his face. When I pulled it, he slid forward on the bed about a foot in a very fast motion. Is it possible I injured him? I'm freaking out. submitted by /u/Physical-Victory-763 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My 6 month old has been getting rashes at various places since she was about 2 months old. We have been to Pediatrician multiple times for this since then. So far we’ve tried Nystatin, BioGaia, Diaper Rash cream, Olive oil, era organic, mustella eczema cream, shea butter Switched from using wipes to washing with water at each poop. Gave more naked time. Increased sunlight exposure, breastmilk bath, Oat milk bath, filtered drinking water bath, but none of these seem to help get rid of rashes. Please share if you have been through or are going through something similar for your baby. submitte ..read more

Baby drool rash

My baby is 9 months old and has been struggling with this rash off and on for months. I took her to pediatrician and he basically said it’s a drool rash mixed with sensitive skin. Some days she has no rash and other days she has it pretty bad. I use Aquaphor and Vaseline but it doesn’t really work that well. I used hydrocortisone cream in the past but I don’t like to use it consistently. Any advice is welcomed! submitted by /u/FlyAgitated9897 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Schedule or go with the flow?

Did you try to set a sleep/eat schedule with your babe or did you just go with the flow and follow the baby’s lead? If the latter, did the baby just work it all out on its own in terms of sleeping? I have a 5 week old and I can’t decide which way to go.. I’ve read into a few schedules and they all feel stressful and rigid, but I’d love to set the foundation for good stretches of sleep at night. On the other hand it feels nice to just follow her lead and let her sleep when she wants, eat when she wants etc. How much structure is really necessary for setting you and your baby up for ease/succes ..read more

Newborn last nap of the day running too long for a good nights rest?

5 weeks old, FTM. Current schedule is napping through the day anywhere from 1 hour - 3 hours. (I’m also realizing now I’ve let her wake windows go too long and I’m letting her being overtired). Her Last nap starts about 6pm and runs till about 8:30pm/9pm. Depending on how she’s feeling she’ll either eat and be back asleep by 9:30pm or stay up until 10:30pm. Her night schedule from there is inconsistent and killing me. Am I letting her last nap go too long? Should I wake her up earlier? Will she sleep longer stretches if her last nap isn’t as long? Breastfed baby cries when near / with me

So I’m a FTM my baby is almost a month old and is so fussy near or with me because he always tries to eat. When I lay him on my chest for tummy time or to soothe him he just looks for the boob even if he ate an hour ago or less. It’s so frustrating watching my mom hold him and he’s so settled but as soon as I’m near he cries. Is this normal? Should I give him the boob any time he wants it? submitted by /u/Anon37682 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Bf and I have a 4 week old daughter. I spent 2 weeks in the hospital after having her do to postpartum preeclampsia. This is our first child together. The other night we got into an argument beca he started cleaning the room, and I wasn't being fast enough with helping. So he cleaned most of the room and proceeded to nag at me for an hour because I'm not cleaning enough at home, he said I don't do anything all day. Keep in mind I'm at home with our baby 24/7, she is exclusively breastfeeding and it's very time consuming. And I take care of her while he's at work. And when he's home he can't e ..read more

Is it normal for baby to scream cry so much?

1 month old but shes been doing this since week 1. Everytime now after feeding and burping and then 5-15 min of her seeming content, she will start to fidget, pant, and then cry and scream usually to the point of not breathing quickly. She scream cries during some daiper changes. Poos look normal. Usually sharts and 2 real poops a day. She fidgety and makes loud grunts and gulps at my breast when breastfeeding most of the time as well. She just doesn't seem happy in general and her cries sounds like she's in pain :/. Nothing comforts her other than feeding and having her in my carrier (if she ..read more
