Long term cognitive effects

I had Lyme 20 years ago, was undiagnosed for 1.5 years. I was treated with 6 months IV Rocephin. I still have bad cognitive difficulties, brain fog, difficulties finding words and keeping sentences straight amongst other things. Are there any cognitive enhancing herbs that I can try? It's terribly frustrating sometimes and I'd do anything for some improvement submitted by /u/Inevitable-Tank3463 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I got bit by a tick a few days ago, didn’t realise it was a tick and it stayed attached for around 50 hours. Eventually I ripped it off without knowing it was a tick so I suppose it’s likely part of the head is still in my body. Anyway I went to my local gp and spoke to the receptionist about it and as the on call gp (I think that’s what she said) wasn’t replying she booked me in for an appointment. However I have no symptoms of lymes so I really don’t want to waste their time as I’m sure they’d most likely just tell me what to look for then send me on my way. I live i. The UK if that makes a ..read more

My functional doc won’t be available until next week to discuss but I’m so curious. It’s a vibrant tickborne panel. I was bit last June but never found an embedded tick just a rash. I was pregnant when bit so only did 21 days amox (that’s what they said was pregnancy safe) but since I’ve been post partum (5 months now) I’ve felt “lymey” so she ordered me a panel. Anyone have thoughts? I’m wondering if this means my infection is still active. This panel was far more detailed than my initial antibody test. No idea what a lot of it means ??‍♀️ submitted by /u/Brighteyed7542 [visit reddit] [comm ..read more

I have Lyme and probably Babesia. I'm currently taking 200mg of disulfiram/day prescribed by my GP. This helps but is not enough. If I increase the dose I become extremely tired (bedridden) which is psychologically difficult for me. My LLMD suggests 8 weeks of doxy with moderate hyperthermia (heating the body up to 104°F/40°C). He is very confident in this method and won't do anything else. If I need anything else, I will have to find another LLMD. I was already on Minocyline for 9 months, which helped a bit, but really messed up my gut. My gut is fine now, but I have to be careful with long ..read more

This usually happens to me after showers or after scratching slightly, I have already done several tests for Bartonella in different laboratories and come back negative every time but I know that Bartonella can hide easily. Knowing the cause would allow me to target the treatment. submitted by /u/No-Necessary4531 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

CW: Abuse My doctor tried to explain the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) and the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) to me. I don’t fully grasp what’s happening with that in relation to Lyme & Co, but I understand it’s best for me to reduce stress and practice activating my parasympathetic nervous system. Here’s my dilemma: I’m in a situation where I have two choices, both of which are incredibly stressful. Choice #1: Stay in my marriage. I’m coming to realize I’m in an abusive marriage. It started small years ago with minor controlling behavior from my husband t ..read more
