Hi! I’m 15 and believe my parents are planning a divorce, my dad has said he wants to talk about it with me and my older brother (17) but my mom does not want to. I have unintentionally heard them talking about this stuff on and off for the past two or three years. I’m scared of the complications, like moving between houses and separate holidays/college funding, and strained relationships with either of my parents. My brother is heading off to college soon and he always kept things lighthearted so I don’t know what to do when he’s gone. Any general advice? I’m anxious and scared about the futu ..read more

I’m the one that has to send messages, and listen to both sides complain one another. My parents haven’t gotten along for years now, especially more lately as my mom found the freedom to work. I’m glad they’re divorcing, but at the same time, I’m not. Most people I know have their parents divorce early as kids, but not as adults. Any tips? Should I be feeling the same anxiety like a kid?” Keep reading @ladyideal No problem! Happy new yea ..read more

“Hey,I am a 15 years old girl with four young siblings, two of them are toodlers. My father just decided that he wants to leave us and move to another country with mother. My mother never worked and is getting depressed from this bullshit, I just don’t know what is going to happen now” Hey there, thanks for writing in. I’m a little confused but do you mean your mother is being left behind or is she forced to go with father? An adult family member needs to step in and help mediate. All you can do is wait and keep an eye out on your siblings while the older adults in the family focus on sorting ..read more

“im 16 and my parents are divorcing bc my dad cheated on mom. my mom always thought that he was unfaithful & i was the one to catch him. I put an app on his phone and I could hear all of his conversations. i told my mom all about it, and he even admitted it, but I heard something I wish I hadn’t have, more than anything. he told his mistress that mom thought they were having an affair, and the whole convo left me cold. my dad is so fucked in the head he didn’t even consider it an affair. Wdid?” *sigh* :( There’s really nothing you can do. This is a marital and legal issue for your parents ..read more

Question: “My dad thinks I’m bottling things up as my parents are divorcing, my mom asked if I wanted therapy, and my mom’s health insurance covers it completely, but I still feel weird. I didn’t answer and I don’t want to bring it up again. Maybe I’m bottling things up but I just think I’m being a good child. Should I say yes and go” Hey, thanks for writing. I’m sorry to hear about your situation right now and hope you’re doing well. There’s no harm in going to therapy, I’d say give it a chance. Attend a couple sessions and see how it goes. Best wishes ..read more

Hey, I’m 17 and I’m currently doing my A-levels in school. My mum told me yesterday that she would leave my dad since he cheated on her. But my dad is the one who earns money and I don’t know how we should live without him. I’m worried I might not be able to go to university next year because even though my dad told me to do it, nobody can pay it… maybe you can give my advice how to deal with this situation? -Anonymous Hey~ For now, wait and see as your parents get things sorted out. You may end up having to pay tuition out of pocket. Maybe consider a part-time job and save as much as you ..read more
