A Batman fan from Ohio has created the most over-the-top Batmobile from the 60s classic TV series. All of the controls to deploy smoke screen, machine guns, blades, sleeping gas, fire suppression, parachutes, everything works.

Here’s the latest tutorial from Erin St Blaine: add noodles of glowing light to your costume using Adafruit nOOds. From the guide:
Adafruit nOOds are little noodles of light. They’re as simple to use as a regular LED – connect one end to power and one end to ground, and they light up and glow. They’re incredibly bendy and flexible, making them just perfect for small subtle costume details. A nOOd will last for hours on a single coin cell battery, with no big noisy EL-wire inverter to manage.
We’ll also get a little crazy and hook 3 nOOds up to a QT Py microcontroller, so they can be dimmed o ..read more

I’m not one for New Year’s Resolutions, but I’m already telling myself that one of the things I want to break down and learn in 2023 is vacuum forming.
In this 2-part video on Prop Monkey Studio, he shows how you can even vacuum form EVA foam. Who knew?
I love the basic former he made from a shop heating unit, some particle board, aluminum foil, and an old vacuum cleaner.
And the two layer forming is to die for ..read more

Take a look at this brand-new tutorial from Erin St Blaine: NeoPixel Remote: IR Control with WLED
This tutorial shows an easy way to get custom animations running on a NeoPixel strip and control them with an infrared remote.
From the guide:
RGB LED lighting strips are everywhere. Many of these strips come with a handy infrared (IR) remote control that will allow you to select different colors, change brightness, and fade from one color to the next. They’re very easy to install and use, but can be rather a disappointment for the discerning LED connoisseur.
The pre-programed animations a ..read more
