It was great that our final runner of 2023 was a winner. Kodiac Thriller really deserved his win at Lingfield after a couple of near misses. Will Cox gave him a great ride from the front, and used the horses experience when it mattered. The horse himself is a good stamp of a horse with plenty of size about him, and could make up into a nice three year old handicapper next year ..read more

Cadogan Gardens provides David Probert with 1500 winner

The step up in trip and a first run in handicap company did the trick for Cadogan Gardens as she won cosily at Wolverhampton. She’s a May foal so there is still plenty of improvement to come, and hopefully she can prove to be a fun filly for her owners Chelsea Thoroughbreds. It was also great to be part of David Probert’s 1500 winner - David has ridden plenty of winners for us and is very much one of our go to jockeys when we can get him ..read more

Special win as The Ice Phoenix scores

It was very special to see the colours of Ann Plummer and her family come home in front on a son of Phoenix Of Spain, as The Ice Phoenix scored at Lingfield. The Irish National Stud are also involved with this horse, which made it even more pleasing. The Ice Phoenix is a big, rangy horse who has more than a look of his dad about him, he also has his laid back temperament. As he grows and matures over the winter we should see a much stronger horse next year, and we are really looking forward to seeing what he can do ..read more

Rukaana has always shown promise at home, but has taken a while to get things together on the racecourse. He’s a big horse, with a galloping action and should go further in time ..read more

Free Nation claims top spot at Windsor

Free Nation is a horse who has promised a lot and let himself down with his behaviour at the racecourse. Following a gelding operation, and quite a lot of schooling at the stalls, he finally showed his true ability at Windsor. He still ran around a bit, and looked green, but was well on top at the end of the race. He’s a horse with plenty of talent who should improve ..read more

Full Regalia wins easily

Full Regalia was sent to us in the summer with one mission and that was to win a race, so after a couple near misses it was great to get her head in front. She did it easily at Chelmsford, and as she appears to enjoy the all weather surface she is probably one to keep going with at the moment ..read more

Labiqa has really come into form in the past month and it was great to get her maiden win at Lingfield. She is well bred and being by Muhaarar should improve as time goes on. We will keep going with her while she is in form as she could easily pick more races up ..read more

Mutasaabeq wins back to back Joel Stakes

Mutasaabeq just loves Newmarket, as his second win in the Joel Stakes proved. However it also proved on his day he is a very talented miler, who has now won three Group 2’s and we would dearly love to win a Group 1 with him, especially with his impressive pedigree. If allowed it could be that he takes his chance in the Breeders Cup Mile, where the tight track and quick ground could really suit his high cruising speed ..read more

Zabriskie Point scores at Thirsk

We probably don’t have a tougher, or more genuine two year old than Zabriskie Point and he showed it with his tenacious win at Thirsk, under a penalty on ground he didn’t like. It would be nice to given him a go in a higher grade of race and seven furlongs looks his thing, which is amazing as he showed a lot of speed early in the year. He’s a lovely character and is becoming a firm favourite with everyone in the yard ..read more

Iberian shows his class in the Champagne

It’s not often you see horses do things on the gallops like Iberian does - but at the end of the day they have to replicate it on the track and it was great to see Iberian do that at Doncaster. The first time Billy Nicholson (who has been riding good horses longer than most of us have been alive) said ‘I’ve never ridden a horse like that in a bit of work’ you definitely listen. Goodwood was his first day at big school, where he encountered ground he never had before and he came off for the bridle for the first time. He didn’t win, but he nearly did and the experience did him the world of good ..read more
