Hoodie Hoo wins easily
Charle Hills News
by Philippa Hills

Hoodie Hoo is a horse we have always liked, but was unfortunately injured after his very encouraging debut at Windsor. That kept him off the track for the rest of the year, however he has done really well over the winter and we were looking forward to getting him back in action. He couldn’t have won in a more professional or pleasing manner and we will be looking at the nice three year old sprint races for him ..read more

Vocal Legend gets off the mark at Southwell
Charle Hills News
by Philippa Hills
2w ago
Vocal Legend had run well in defeat on his last two starts. He looked to be getting sharper in his work at home, so we decided to bring him back to 6 furlongs. This worked a treat and he won well. He has come out of the race in really good form and we will look for something soon ..read more

Back to back wins for Jersey Rocs
Charle Hills News
by Philippa Hills
3M ago
Under a great ride from Marco Ghiani, Jersey Rocs got his head in front for the second time at Wolverhampton. The blinkers have definitely worked, and he also just seems to be a horse who is thriving at the moment. He will be seen out again in January and can hopefully add to his tally ..read more

Drop back in trip sees Iberian back in business
Charle Hills News
by Philippa Hills

It’s safe to say it’s been a tricky season with Iberian, and at the start of it we would never have expected his win to come over 6f at Southwell in December. He had a small procedure done on his wind which really seems to have helped, and as he has always shown us plenty of speed at home we thought a drop back to sprinting could also help. Although he was a bit rusty in the race, and only just won, he showed a great turn of foot to do so. He’ll be aimed at the Kachy Stakes at Lingfield in February, and depending on how he gets on there we will possibly look at Middle East options in Saudi and ..read more

Age no barrier for Equilateral
Charle Hills News
by Philippa Hills
3M ago
He may be rising 10 but Equilateral showed the younger brigade how it was done by winning with authority at Southwell. It’s amazing how he’s kept his enthusiasm for the game over the years, and is a credit to the team at home. We toyed with the idea of sending him to Dubai again, but thought as he is running so well on the all weather we’ll keep him here as there are plenty of races for him ..read more

Shiplake wins at Newcastle
Charle Hills News
by Philippa Hills

Shiplake did a lot wrong in the race, but still managed to win in tenacious style. He does need to learn to settle, which is why we dropped him back to 6 furlongs. She definitely needs further and it’s his talent that’s getting him through at the moment. He is named after Shiplake College which owner Kia Joorabchian attended, and where James and Eddie Hills are currently at school, so they were delighted he hasn’t let the school down ..read more

Jersey Rocs springs a surprise
Charle Hills News
by Philippa Hills
4M ago
It’s safe to say that up until now Jersey Rocs season has been very disappointing. We decided to put blinkers on him and it definitely appeared to do the trick, as he raced with much more enthusiasm and really knuckled down at the end of the race. Hopefully it will have done his confidence the world of good, and he can have a productive winter on the All Weather ..read more

Supreme Sovereign wins on debut
Charle Hills News
by Philippa Hills
4M ago
Supreme Sovereign was very backward both physically and mentally earlier in the year and hadn’t been showing that much on the gallops. He is a very laid back character and that’s maybe why, because as soon as he started doing faster work in late summer/early autumn he suddenly began to show us plenty. There was a lot to like about the way he came through horses, and really stuck his head down to beat a horse rated 88. That will probably be it for this year, but he learnt plenty at Southwell and is very much one to look forward to ..read more

A special win all round for Racingbreaks Ryder
Charle Hills News
by Philippa Hills
5M ago
Firstly, Racingbreaks Ryder really deserved his win at Catterick, as he’s been running consistently well without getting his head in front for his team of enthusiastic owners. However, there was also a lovely connection between his breeders and jockey Sean D Bowen as they are cousins. With Sean being crowned Champion Apprentice it was a good day all round ..read more

Jodhpur Blue gets his head in front at Newcastle
Charle Hills News
by Philippa Hills

After a succession of good runs Jodhpur Blue got a well deserved win at Newcastle. He’s a big horse who will probably get better with time, and also looks to be getting sharper so he’ll probably take after this sire Blue Point, more than his dam as time goes on ..read more
