We’re on our way to the home of National Hunt Racing with old favourite TOP VILLE BEN & new to the yard at Christmas, JASON THE MILLITANT in the box with us. It’s a hugely exciting day for our team, a runner in the Champion Hurdle is just such a privilege and dream and although Jason is a big price, he’s a talented Listed winner & in tremendous form at home. Jockey Joe Williamson gets the leg up, he rides him every day at home & there’s no underestimating that this will be the biggest day of his career to date and an experience to talk to his grandchildren about in years to come ..read more

Smart Boyo – surely he can brake his string of seconds today? He has been ultra consistent this season with 4 2nd’s so far this winter
Its a busy day ahead for the team with 7 runners. 6 up at Ayr if the snow miraculously doesnt ruin the plans!!! My Strong Man (below), Misscarlett, Robert Johnson, Smart Boyo (above), Zwicky and Court Justice are all set to run, and Caracristi heads in the other direction to Wolverhampton for the 4.25 h’cap.
My Strong Man – known as ‘Tonto’ to his friends
**Update!** We have had 2 seconds & a third so far at Ayr and it doesn’t get much closer than SMART B ..read more

He’s ready if the heavens open – best of luck to North Yorkshire Grand National winners BUSHPARK & TOMMY DOWSON -he runs at Newcastle in the big race for his Owners, The Green Oaks partnership if the ground turns soft – we’re praying for more rain than is forecast
We also have the striking grey Barley Breeze in the novice hurdle – he is likely to need handicaps to be seen at his best, but a good round of jumping & learning to settle will see him to better effect, he is enthusiastic and just needs to listen.
Last night saw Billian just beaten in a photo at Wolverhampton. Our yard appr ..read more

Lone Star justified her favouritism with a win on Valentines Day up at Ayr in the conditional jockeys mares h’cap hurdle following her near miss on Tuesday last week at Market Rasen. Congrats to owners John Cornforth, Peter Rawcliffe and all connections. It was a well executed ride by Joe Williamson, sitting handy all the way before taking it up easily 3 from home for a strong 6 length win. A nice contrast to last Tuesday which finished with the unfortunate fall Joe had aboard Clean Getaway – luckily all are fine.

A very atmospheric picture captured early in the morning at Green Oaks by Denise, one of the few perks of the early starts with the racehorses is seeing the sunrise.
The pick of our runs this past week (besides Ben at Leopardstown on Sunday, see our last post!) would be Lone Star at Market Rasen on Tuesday. Following her rise in the weights for her lovely win last time out at Newcastle she put up a top effort with Joe Williamson again, missing out on a double by just 1 length to the David Pipe joint favourite. No runners this weekend, but looking forwards to next week we have our treble winne ..read more

Just a quick post to share with you all how proud we are of Top Ville Ben and his fantastic effort over at Leopardstown yesterday in the grade A 2mile5 h’cap chase with Tommy Dowson on board! He gave a great show of himself on ground that wouldnt have been ideal for him, back over a trip not tried for a while. He threw it all at them and battled on for a very close finishing 3rd against some top, dare we say mostly younger opposition. Huge well done to him, Tommy, Joe for doing a great job riding him out at home and all the team involved. A fine effort for his Harbour Rose Partnership, especi ..read more

Zwicky dug deep last Sunday at Sedgefield for a fantastic win under an inspiring ride by Tommy Dowson, rallying hard to stay on to seal the victory in the last 100 yards of the novice h’cap hurdle. A great win for owners Phil & Nicola Tyler of Topspec, our long standing much appreciated sponsor. Zwicky is their first homebred racehorse, making it an extra special win, huge congrats to them and we hope he can continue with such good heart for a promising career ahead.

Best Christmas wishes to everyone We have a busy day with six horses across three meetings & our strongest chance of the day is Busby who bids needs for a hat-trick and a share of the generous £20,000 Arc bonus for horses that win 3 races at Arc tracks in a month. We have Grade 2 action at Wetherby with TOP VILLE BEN and although the ground isn’t as soft as we’d like, he goes there in good form following his brave run under top weight at Lingfield. He is nearing his 11th Birthday but has been admi ..read more

A very atmospheric pic from the recent snowfall a few days ago at Green Oaks
We knew it was coming, and it definitely did! There was more than a few inches of the white stuff, but the show went on and all the horses still got out and did some exercise thanks to the dedicated determination of the PKR team – well done everyone!
