4-5 October 2024 “CODA culture and identity”
We are delighted to hear that a CODA Festival is coming to Cork to celebrate the culture and identity of children of deaf adults, 4-5 Oct 2024. The exciting event is being run by the Institute of Social Sciences in the 21st Century (ISS21) at University College Cork, who are currently inviting CODA artists and performers to submit their work for consideration.

The Cork Deaf Association launched its Strategic Plan 2023-2028 during one of the most significant weeks of the year for the global Deaf Community. The launch was just one of the many events taking place throughout Ireland and the rest of the world during International Week of Deaf People from 18th – 24th September. This annual initiative aims to recognise and celebrate the Deaf Community and Deaf Culture.

The Two Norries are linking up with the Cork Deaf Association for a very special podcast on Saturday 10th December in acknowledgement of National Irish Sign Language Day. The Two Norries, who have emerged as one of Ireland’s premier sources of insightful information on a broad range of social issues, will be speaking to Dr. John Bosco Conama. The Cork Deaf Association is offering free hearing tests on Monday 17th October as part of Cork Hard of Hearing Awareness Week, which takes place between 17th and 21st October. Other activities taking place during the week include a lipreading taster class, an assistive technology demonstration evening and an outreach information stand at Wilton shopping centre.
Hard of Hearing Awareness Week aims to promote awareness of the impact of hearing loss and encourage Hard of Hearing people to seek support. Approximately 250,000 people in Ireland have a significant hearing loss. Sad ..read more

Living with COVID 19 WE ARE OPEN!!

Service user and staff safety is our priority in Cork Deaf Association. In line with the current Government Guidelines on living and working with Covid-19, we have made some changes to our building and staff rotas as part of creating a safer environment. We are delighted to be returning to supporting the community through our various services.
