Off to Taunton today to saddle Elfride (pictured) in the 2.45pm – a three mile mares handicap hurdle. Hopefully the step up in trip will suit her and she gets a fair bit off weight off the opposition in what is a competitive little affair.
Fine Theatre found the going far too soft at Uttoxeter on Saturday which did not help his breathing and we will now find a race on some more suitable going and possibly over a bit further.
Iron Horse was travelling into the race very well at Chepstow yesterday and looked as though he was going to be very competitive before failing to get his landing ge ..read more

Off to Uttoxeter today to saddle Fine Theatre (pictured) in the handicap chase at 4.10pm. It will be great to get him back on the track having had a fair few niggles in the past. He will wear cheek pieces and a tongue strap and we were hoping for not quite so soft ground but let’s hope he shows his talent with Ciaran Gethings booked to ride.
Tomorrow at Chepstow, Iron horse runs in the handicap chase at 4.25pm with Tom Bellamy onboard. We are going back over fences which hopefully will suit and with the testing ground hopefully he can show similar form over fences as he has d ..read more

Fighting Poet ran a wonderful second last night at Southwell in the mile and a half handicap. The slow pace of the race would not have suited him, however he travelled well in behind the leaders before challenging in the final furlong beaten only a neck by the winner.
Hopefully he will continue to give the Richard Phillips Racing Syndicate some fun over the coming months and with luck, a win is not too far away.
As ever during Cheltenham week, it’s great to welcome so many visitors and meet up with so many owners at the Festival.

Fighting Poet is declared in the 8pm at Southwell tomorrow evening with Rab Havlin onboard. Hopefully this course will suit him better than Lingfield and he will wear cheekpieces to help him concentrate. He finished his race off well last time and should once again be competitive for the Richard Phillips Racing Syndicate.
We have made entries for the weekend at Uttoxeter and Chepstow for Fine Theatre and Iron Horse over fences. Both horses appear in good form and it will be good to get them on the track now that the rains have come.

As ever, the staff are doing a great job of working through the snow, sleet and rain over the last few days. Fortunately with our excellent facilities we are able to keep the horses on the move and able to do plenty of exercise in these wintery conditions.
The ground is certainly beginning to change for the better for a few of our horses and we look forward to getting some targets for them in the coming weeks.
It was great to welcome owner Brian Duckett to the yard this morning. Brian has been a great supporter of the yard for over a couple of decades and is now retired living in Portuga ..read more

A snowy start to the morning with the Cotswolds looking at its beautiful best with a light dusting. It was great to welcome owners Charlie Allan, Dave Mason, Tot Calver and Jenny and Jonathan Stowell. Hopefully with some rain on the way we will be able to have some runners over the next few weeks.
Unfortunately the rain didn’t come in time for Iron Horse at either Ffos Las or Wetherby but looking forward to him returning to chasing on his next run.

Bluenose Belle runs this evening in the 8pm at Kempton. She has been in good form on her last few runs and hopefully will put up another pleasing performance although it is a step up in class.
There was not enough rain at Doncaster for Fine Theatre (pictured) to run on Friday and therefore we will look for an alternative race for him. Everyone has been very patient with him and let us hope we can find some softish ground soon for him as he looks in great form at home.
A Wednesday work morning with all going well and some of our promising youngsters are progressing nicely. Alt ..read more

Totterdown ran a pleasing race at Chepstow on Saturday, finishing fifth in what was a very competitive handicap hurdle. He would prefer softer ground than he came across at the weekend but nevertheless he jumped fluently and with great enthusiasm until being out paced from two out. We may well now go chasing with him and he looks as though he will continue to give the Adlestrop Club plenty of entertainment in the coming months.
Elfride again would not have liked the ground at Hereford yesterday having travelled so nicely on a softer surface on her previous run. However over a ..read more

Fighting Poet ran well in the mile and a half handicap at Lingfield today, finishing fourth beaten two and a half lengths by the winner. Rab Havlin said that a more galloping track and a stronger pace would suit and we look forward to finding a suitable race for him soon, as he looks as though he should give the Richard Phillips Racing Syndicate some fun over the coming weeks and months.
Totterdown is declared in the 1.57pm at Chepstow tomorrow. Although he would probably prefer softer ground, he has run well on better ground in the past. It is a competitive event but Totterdown is ..read more

Fighting Poet (pictured) has been declared in the 4.25pm at Lingfield on Friday with Rab Havlin onboard. We are dropping him back in trip following his Kempton run which will hopefully help and he has run well over course and distance previously.
Rab rode him in his first race for us and the form has worked out well, so hopefully he will be competitive on Friday for the Richard Phillips Racing Syndicate who are due a bit of luck.
