We have entered Organdi at Cartmel on Monday in the hope the ground dries out in the next few days.  She appears in good form at home and may well have been in season in her last couple of races but she does need top of the ground to be seen at her best. We have decided to give Ned Cash a bit of a holiday as there a few opportunities coming up for him at present and there is a break in the jumping calendar in August. Mattie Ross runs at Worcester today in the three mile handicap hurdle run at 4.20pm.  With the recent rain hopefully the ground will be fine for her.  She won well at Market Rasen last time out but has gone up six pounds for that victory and this is a more competitive event.  However she appears in good form at home and Finn Lambert takes off a valuable three pounds. Fighting Poet did have an entry at Ffos Las on Wednesday but we will give that race a miss and wait until next week at Bath as he prefers more time between his races.  We look forward to him building on his exc ..read more

We have declared Ned Cash at Stratford tomorrow in the two miles two furlongs handicap hurdle at 6.10pm.  He ran well on his handicap debut recently at the track and hopefully will be competitive once again now that he is learning to settle better and Adam Wedge takes the ride. Fighting Poet is declared in the 8.30pm at Epsom on Wednesday – the mile and a half handicap.  Robert Havlin rides and Poet has run well with him onboard in the past so let’s hope he copes with the undulating course and gives the Adlestrop Club an exciting run in what looks a competitive event. Methodtothemagic runs today in the 2.53pm at Worcester – a three miles handicap chase.  We have changed her training regime as she bled on her last run at Uttoxeter.  Hopefully if back to her best she will be competitive in this contest as she certainly has the ability having won impressively this time last year over hurdles.  Finn Lambert, who won on her that day, takes three pounds off. Delighted with Ned Cash’s (pictured) run at Stratford on Tuesday.  Sam Twiston-Davies reported that although he pulled hard he travelled well into the race and stayed on well after the last to finish third, beaten just over three lengths by the winner. As he gradually learns to settle he will get a bit further in time and he appears to enjoy the ground at this time of year.  We will look for another race for him to follow up in soon. It was wonderful to see Mattie Ross win her first race over hurdles for us at Market Rasen on Friday evening.  Given a fine ride by Finn Lambert, she raced just off the leader who set a strong pace and she jumped with great fluency.  Taking it up after the second last, she galloped on strongly to the line giving her very patient owners a night to remember. Mattie is a very popular member of the string and always gives her best.  We look forward to her continuing to give the Zara Syndicate plenty of fun and success over hurdles and fences in the future.  We will see what the ..read more
