Does anyone know if there exists an apple home key pad or something like that? I would like to upgrade my smart lock without replacing it. I have a yale doorman v2n. So if. I had a pad that would send a signal to the yale hub, homey pro, home assistant or homekit would be awesome. This would hopefully be sold complete, but a DIY solution would also work! Thanks!

TLDR; I have a GE dishwasher (Model #:GDF630PSM0SS) that has an issue of intermittently powering on and off. The power specifications are: 15A/800W. Can I use a Kasa HS103 smart plug simply for powering on/off the device? The plug will still be used while the dishwasher is running.
Longer version: Basically, there's a known issue with the control module of this dishwasher which causes it to turn on/off at random times. The dishwasher doesn't run a cycle on its own, but turns itself on and off with a chime. I want to use a smart plug simply for turning on the dishwasher, so it runs a cycle, an ..read more

I sold my house about 4 years ago and have been renting but I recently was able to afford a small place again. At my old house I had zwave switches from homeseer which were like the bees knees for zwave. I'm looking for "the best" switches (toggle) zwave + now. I will be pairing it to home assistant using a controller likely this one "HomeSeer Z-NET G3".
I was looking at zigbee a while back as well I'm open to either but I have some decent experience with zwave.
Thank you for your input!

Hi everyone! As title says, i want to start making my home "smart" i will use HA as a controller but i need a little help to chose hardware path (Im between zigbee and thread, but i can use WiFi if they met the next) my requirements are: 1-locally controlled

I've read apple homekit is locally controlled is that true? Same question for thread.
I know some WiFi devices (like tp link ones) can be controlled locally if u know more please share with me ?
Im looking for plugs, lights and ceiling fan switches, door sensors, smart wires, proximity sensors, presence ..read more

Hello all, been lurking for a while slowly working towards a college educated home. My wife and I just moved so I'm looking into expanding from a couple smart bulbs and cameras to a bit more automation. My wife wants me to go ahead and get a smart thermostat so she can control the forced air from her phone.id like to futureproof myself and get something that will work with my automation goals.
The home is too large for it's furnace but there's gas fireplaces (the sealed kind with a glass pane and then we have a barrier around them to be extra safe) on all three levels. They're controlled usin ..read more

If you already have a smart assistant speaker, then you already have a Matter Border Router, no?
Can such hub integrate older protocols like Zigbee and IR blaster into Matter? If so then ok, it could be useful.

Does anyone have experience with the Mammotion Luba 2 robotic mower? I've watched multiple YouTube videos and it seems like it would work great in my yard, but I wanted to get more insight due to it's high cost before I get more serious about purchasing one.

As the title says I am looking to begin my home automation journey and am starting with an outdoor floodlight that would activate when we pull into the driveway. The ability to turn it on from our phone when we pull up would also be nice. Do you have any suggestions on what light/system to buy into being as this is a fresh start for me?
